On November 14, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court held a meeting to examine the submission, access to evidence and mediation of the inheritance dispute of the late artist Vu Linh, between the plaintiff, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung (artist Vu Linh's sister) and the defendant, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan (artist Vu Linh's daughter).
At the meeting, the court allowed the parties involved to access documents and evidence related to the dispute, such as the expert conclusion signed by the late artist Vu Linh. Both the plaintiff and the defendant did not agree to conciliate and signed the minutes of the meeting.

The case file shows that after artist Vu Linh passed away, in June 2023, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung filed a lawsuit and disputed inheritance with Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan.
Ms. Nhung requested the court to verify the signature of the late artist Vu Linh on the adoption handover document and the adoption certificate book. Ms. Nhung also requested to declare void the document and the inheritance declaration of Ms. Loan regarding the house and land at No. 5 Doan Thi Diem Street, Phu Nhuan District and 2 land use rights in Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City.

The plaintiff also requested to cancel the updated changes on the land use rights certificate and assets attached to the land issued by the People's Committee of Phu Nhuan District on January 23, 2015 for house number 5 Doan Thi Diem regarding the transfer of ownership to Ms. Loan. Requested the court to declare that the entire legacy of the late artist Vu Linh is an inherited property owned by the second-order heirs.
The plaintiff also requested the court to request an appraisal of the late artist Vu Linh's signature on the adoption handover document and the adoption handover certificate book.

As for Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan, she did not accept all of the plaintiff's lawsuit requests. Ms. Loan said that she was the first heir and had submitted to the court all the documents confirming that she was the legitimate child of artist Vu Linh.
Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan counter-sued, requesting the plaintiff and the plaintiff's biological child (Le Thi Hong Phuong) to move all assets out of house number 5 Doan Thi Diem.
