(NADS) – On November 25, the Central Propaganda Department organized the Award Ceremony and opened the exhibition of the 3rd National Art Photography Contest “Proud of a Border Strip” in 2024. The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the 22 best photo works of the contest. 2 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, 6 Bronze Medals and 10 Encouragement Medals.
The contest is chaired by the Central Propaganda Department, in coordination with the Central External Relations Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Border Guard Command, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and related units.
The National Art Photography Competition and Exhibition “Proud of a Border Strip” is held every two years with the aim of promoting the poetic and majestic natural beauty as well as the unique cultural features of the people in the border areas, depicting the life, work, activities, and combat training of the army and people in the border areas of the Fatherland, contributing to arousing and fostering patriotism, pride in the country's position and position, and responsibility for the homeland and country among all classes of people at home and abroad.
In just 5 months, the Organizing Committee has received more than 14,000 entries from nearly 2,000 authors from 63 provinces and cities. Along with the increase in quantity, the quality of the entries to this year's Contest has also been significantly improved, including many excellent entries with rich, diverse content, high aesthetics, creativity, meeting the criteria of lines, light and propaganda effectiveness. Many single and series of photos show valuable camera angles, compositions, and moments, rich in emotions, reflecting realistically and vividly the life, activities and work of our people in border areas, especially where many ethnic minorities live. At the same time, spreading the meaning, activities, and simple, sacred deeds, honoring the forces that are day and night preserving and firmly protecting the Fatherland's borders, reflects the 80-year tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.
