Hanoi leads the country in the number of national excellent students.

Of the 260 Hanoi students participating in the National High School Excellence Competition for the 2024-2025 school year, 200 students won prizes. With this achievement, Hanoi continues to lead the country in the competition.

On January 18, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that out of 260 students in the city participating in the national high school excellent student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, 200 students won prizes. Of which, there were 18 first prizes, 60 second prizes, 65 third prizes and 57 consolation prizes.

Compared to last year, this result increased by 16 students winning prizes. In the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi students won 184 prizes with 14 first prizes, 61 second prizes, 54 third prizes and 55 consolation prizes.

To participate in this exam, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training organized the selection and established 13 teams, including 260 students in the subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, Chinese, Russian, Japanese.

This year, the Physics, Chemistry, and English teams all won prizes (20 prizes). Biology and Chemistry are the two teams with the most First Prizes, with 5 First Prizes each.

Most of the award-winning students are studying at four specialized high schools in the city: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School, Nguyen Hue High School, Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School.

Contributing to the overall achievements of the capital's students this year are also students from non-specialized high schools such as Nguyen Gia Thieu, Viet Duc...; students from non-public schools such as Newton, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Hoang Long, Japan International...

Notably, this year there were also students from non-specialized public schools in disadvantaged districts of the city who won prizes, including students from Ngo Quyen High School - Ba Vi who won third prize in Physics.

The National High School Excellent Student Selection Exam for the 2024-2025 school year will be organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on December 25 and 26, 2024 with a total of 6,482 candidates nationwide taking the exam.
