NDO - On March 21, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 1024/UBND-KGVX, requesting units to urgently implement Official Dispatch No. 23/CD-TTg and Official Dispatch No. 1572/BYT-PB on the implementation of measles vaccination. The goal is that by March 31, 2025, at least 95% of children from 6 months to under 9 months old in the city must receive one dose of measles vaccine.
Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to direct and support medical units to accelerate the implementation of the Vaccination Campaign, ensuring adequate and timely vaccine sources for districts, towns and cities; requesting hospitals to strictly implement infection prevention procedures, screening and isolating patients to avoid cross-infection; coordinating with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize communication activities to raise public awareness of the importance of measles vaccination.
The Department of Culture and Sports provides information and guidance to the press and media on the benefits of measles vaccination. In particular, it encourages people to vaccinate their children fully and on schedule, ensuring that children from 6 months to under 9 months old receive one dose of vaccine and children from 1 to 10 years old receive two doses. In addition, women of childbearing age are also encouraged to receive measles-rubella vaccines according to the recommendations of the health sector.
The Department of Education and Training will step up propaganda on measles prevention and control in schools; monitor students' health status, promptly notify medical stations of cases of measles or suspected measles; coordinate with health agencies to review students' vaccination history and encourage parents to have their children fully vaccinated.
The Department of Finance will guide units to arrange funding for measles vaccination. City departments, branches and sectors need to closely coordinate with the health sector and related units to strengthen communication and implement measures to prevent and control measles in the city.
People's Committees of districts, towns and cities shall accelerate the implementation of the Vaccination Campaign; proactively develop plans to be ready to respond to epidemic situations in the area. Direct relevant agencies and units to coordinate with the health sector to review and manage vaccination subjects, ensure that no subjects are missed, and ensure sufficient human resources, funding, materials and equipment to complete the campaign in March 2025. Units also need to organize regular inspections and supervision, support the routes and report campaign results to the Department of Health weekly.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and organizations and unions coordinate with the health sector to propagate and mobilize people to implement measures to prevent measles, especially in vaccination.
Measles vaccination campaign is considered one of the important measures to protect public health and prevent the spread of disease.
