According to statistics, up to now, Nghe An has organized 6 rounds of voting for typical rural industrial products from district to provincial level; the results have selected 223 typical rural industrial products at district level, 96 typical rural industrial products at provincial level, 26 typical rural industrial products at regional level and 11 typical rural industrial products at national level.
Typical units include: Ho Hoan Cau Company Limited (Quynh Luu), Duc Phong Company Limited (Vinh City), Vietnam Algae Science and Technology Joint Stock Company (Quynh Luu), Hoa Tien Brocade Craft Village Cooperative (Quy Chau)... for many consecutive years have been recognized as typical rural industrial products at all levels for many different types of products.
Honoring products through voting has helped many establishments expand their consumption markets, thereby promoting investment in expanding production scale, improving product quality, reducing costs, and increasing competitiveness with products from other provinces and imported goods.
The recognition of typical rural industrial products also helps consumers feel secure and confident in the quality and reputation of the enterprise. From there, the brand position of the establishment is strengthened so that many customers know the products of the enterprise. Through the voting periods, many production establishments have been attracted to participate, the number of products participating in the voting and winning awards has increased year by year; the quality and design of participating products are increasingly higher. After being voted, many establishments have been supported to connect typical rural industrial products to wholesale and retail distribution systems nationwide; build promotional data on e-commerce platforms and on electronic information portals and mass media.
Up to now, many production facilities have grown from a scale of a few dozen workers to hundreds of workers, increasing revenue from 3-5 billion VND to over 20 billion VND per year..., many products have reached the export market.
Speaking of typical rural industrial products, we must mention the exported rattan and bamboo products of Duc Phong Company Limited. In recent years, despite the difficult market, businessman Thai Dai Phong - Director of Duc Phong Company Limited has maintained stable production for thousands of workers, especially those in rural areas. The company has just been certified by the National Council as the first 5-star OCOP product of Nghe An province.

However, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic crisis, the price of input materials and the consumer market have encountered many difficulties, causing many rattan and bamboo weaving production facilities to struggle. To overcome the difficulties for rattan and bamboo weaving products, we are considering solutions to develop the profession in conjunction with the development of raw material forest growing areas; at the same time, we need to increase promotion and find markets for the products, thereby restoring rattan and bamboo weaving villages, creating jobs for rural workers...
Help businesses invest in expanding production scale
To achieve that result, the industrial promotion work actively orients the contents of activities, contributing to the implementation of the goals of supporting strong industrial development in rural areas according to the planning. The industry and trade sector also supports, encourages, and motivates economic sectors to invest in developing refined and deep processing industries associated with raw material areas and markets, promoting small-scale handicraft production, and implementing programs to preserve and develop craft villages.
Thanks to that, the policy has been spread, encouraging businesses and production facilities to make efforts and determination to innovate and create. Along with that, the activity of voting for typical rural industrial products is a bright color in the transformation that has created a highlight in the picture of Nghe An Industry and Trade in recent years.
According to statistics, the province has allocated support from the industrial promotion fund to 26 rural industrial establishments with products that have achieved the title of typical rural industrial products, with a total budget of nearly 6 billion VND. The support contents include: Labor training, investment in applying machinery and equipment, applying technological lines, building technical demonstration models and investing in purchasing equipment for showrooms to introduce products.
Supported establishments have mobilized investment capital, expanded production scale, and created more jobs for rural workers; many advanced production technologies have been transferred, and demonstration models have been replicated.
However, the construction and development of typical rural industrial products in Nghe An province has not yet reflected the actual potential and strengths of the province. Some establishments and manufacturing enterprises have not really paid attention to the contest to vote for typical rural industrial products. Some products have not yet promoted their advantages, maintained and stabilized product quality. Some participating establishments are small businesses, have not invested in applying advanced machinery and equipment systems in production, so the output scale is not much, or in some cases, handicrafts are unique products. Some products still apply manual production processes and technology, low productivity, limited quality, etc.
To overcome the shortcomings and difficulties, in recent years, based on the results of voting for typical rural industrial products at all levels, the Department of Industry and Trade has developed a plan to support production development, contributing to promoting the development of rural industry.
Mr. Ngo Xuan Vinh - Deputy Director of Nghe An Center for Support and Consulting on Industrial and Trade Development shared: Along with the positive contributions of industrial promotion activities, the organization of voting for typical rural industrial products will continue to accompany rural industrial production establishments in Nghe An province, in order to discover and honor products with high quality and high usage value. Thereby, creating opportunities for rural industrial products in the province to increasingly affirm their brands, thereby, searching and expanding domestic and international markets.
Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade continues to accompany the establishments and prioritize supporting industrial promotion funds for enterprises with award-winning products to remove capital sources for enterprises in investing in expanding production scale, improving product quality, increasing competitiveness in the market, especially the export market.
