Ministry of Information and Communications issues postage stamp set "National Treasure Ceramics"

Available on the network of Vietnam Post Corporation from July 28, 2024 to June 30, 2025, the newly issued postage stamp set introduces typical ceramic artifacts, namely Dau Ram ceramic vase, Long Thanh terracotta vase collection, Nhon Thanh ceramic vase and Brown flower ceramic Thong.

"National Treasures (set 3): Ceramics" is the 8th postage stamp set issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications this year, after 3 commemorative stamp sets and 4 thematic stamp sets that were previously issued, including: Love stamps; Commemorating the 1,100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang; Hanoi 12 flower seasons (set 1); Commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; Tea tree; Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the completion of Vinh Te canal; The fairy tale of the Hundred-joint bamboo tree.

This postage stamp set is also the third set in a series of stamps on the theme of Vietnam's national treasures, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications to contribute to promoting and introducing the unique features of national treasures to a wide audience at home and abroad.

National treasures are artifacts that contain great historical, cultural and artistic values ​​for the nation. Each national treasure is a valuable heritage containing messages from the past, the quintessence of the rich, diverse and unique Vietnamese culture, reflecting the long-standing cultural history, the tradition of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people.

National treasures are assessed by the National Cultural Heritage Council and submitted to the Prime Minister for decision on recognition. They are protected and preserved under a special regime, helping to preserve the heritage and pass it on to future generations.

Among the ceramic artifacts selected to be introduced on the stamp set "National Treasures (set of 3): Ceramics", the Brown Flower Ceramic Thong was recognized as a national treasure in the 5th batch in December 2016; the Dau Ram ceramic vase, the Long Thanh terracotta vase collection and the Nhon Thanh ceramic vase were all recognized as national treasures in the 7th batch in December 2018.
