Attending the Conference were leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the periods and heads of units in the Ministry.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the 14th National Party Congress is of utmost importance, a key stage towards achieving the country's development goals by 2030.
The Minister highlighted the motto that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong directed at the 9th Central Conference, according to which draft documents must be truly worthy of being submitted to the Congress, demonstrating the will and strength of the entire Party, people and army in the new development period with new spirit and new motivation.
Therefore, on the basis of closely following the results of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, summarizing 40 years of innovation, 15 years of implementing the Party's Charter and Platform, the entire diplomatic sector needs to focus collective intelligence and contribute practical opinions to the Political Report Outline of the Congress.

In the spirit of responsibility and frankness, the delegates attending the Conference enthusiastically discussed and contributed many enthusiastic and intellectual opinions to the Report Outline.
Opinions agreed that the documents had been carefully and meticulously prepared, and in addition to inheriting and developing valuable content, they also suggested new thinking and orientations for important national issues for the next 5-10 years.
In particular, the Conference discussed extensively the contents of forecasting the situation and foreign affairs orientation; many opinions said that in the context of the new situation, foreign affairs in general and diplomacy in particular need to continue to innovate, be creative, and find new, breakthrough directions.
At the end of the Conference, Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated the enthusiastic and responsible contributions of the delegates, and suggested synthesizing and absorbing the contributions to further perfect the Report Outline.
