On March 25, the Border Guard of Binh Thuan province launched a high-profile campaign to patrol, control, and combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
During this peak period, the provincial Border Guard mobilized 1 patrol boat, 1 canoe and 12 officers and soldiers, divided into three forces: patrol, inspection, control and violation handling. The functional forces performed tasks in the sea area from Phan Thiet Fishing Port to Phu Hai Port (Phan Thiet City).

The Border Guard focuses on detecting and strictly handling violations such as: fishing on the wrong route, transporting, dismantling, and disabling journey monitoring equipment, "3 no" fishing vessels (unregistered, uninspected, and unlicensed) and vessels that do not meet the conditions for fishing.
Immediately after the deployment, the functional forces inspected many vehicles entering and leaving Phan Thiet Fishing Port, discovered and handled violations such as: no captain certificate, no national flag, blurred vehicle registration number... In addition, the Border Guard also integrated propaganda and guidance for vehicle owners and fishermen on legal regulations in combating IUU fishing, especially the requirement to maintain journey monitoring equipment and not violate foreign waters to illegally exploit seafood.
