Continuing the ideology initiated by President Ho Chi Minh nearly 80 years ago, Vietnam has officially put into operation the "Digital Popular Education" platform to popularize digital knowledge for all people.
Within the framework of the launching ceremony of the "Digital Popularization" movement this afternoon in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with Hanoi University of Science and Technology and local ministries and branches, under the direction of the Central Steering Committee on Digital Transformation, launched the "Digital Popularization" platform.
The platform will officially operate from April 1. This is a strategic step in the national digital transformation process, aiming to help the majority of people access and use digital technology effectively.
Reduce training costs by 80% compared to traditional methods
According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, the world is in a period of epochal change, competition between major countries is increasingly fierce, in which competition over the quality of human resources that determines the development opportunities of each country is identified as the core.
“The fourth industrial revolution, the formation of a knowledge-based economy and knowledge-based society, the requirement to transform the economic model from breadth to depth, and to restructure the economy towards quality, efficiency, and high competitiveness… have promoted educational innovation, becoming a global trend and Vietnam cannot stand outside that trend,” said the Deputy Minister.
On that basis, the Ministry of Public Security has coordinated with Hanoi University of Science and Technology to design and develop the "Digital Popular Education" platform in the direction of applying the most advanced technology standards in the field of online training, ensuring flexible expansion and meeting large-scale needs of learners.
“Learners can access quickly and easily from any location with an Internet connection, on popular devices, providing interaction between teachers and learners in many forms, self-studying according to video lectures, slides or learning with supervision both directly by humans or through AI technology,” Mr. Long informed.
With its superior features, the program has initially recorded important results for popularizing digital knowledge, supporting students to study online on the Internet platform.
“The platform has trained more than 200,000 students (civil servants, public employees, workers, armed forces, etc.) in 50 localities with two topics: digital transformation and digital space security. The learning materials are posted on the online training platform,” said Deputy Minister Long.
Youth is the vanguard force to master technology
Mr. Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, affirmed that nearly 80 years ago, the "Popular Education" movement initiated by President Ho Chi Minh became a symbol of self-reliance and solidarity, helping people escape illiteracy and access knowledge.
“It is not only a movement to eradicate illiteracy, but also an ideological revolution, laying the foundation for the development of the nation. History proves that for a nation to be strong, it must first have a highly educated population," said the leader of the Central Youth Union. Accordingly, in the context of the world entering the digital age, "Popular Education" has taken on a new look - "Digital Popular Education".
“This is not just about learning how to use technology, but also about learning how to think digitally, creatively and adapt to the times. This is also a historic opportunity for every Vietnamese citizen to master technology, master the future, and bring the country on par with the world powers,” Mr. Huy affirmed.
He emphasized the role of young people - the generation born in the technology era - as the pioneering force in this movement. Young people are creative and have the ability to quickly apply technology. Digital transformation is not just a trend, but has become a natural part of their lives.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union identifies raising awareness, changing thinking and promoting the vanguard role of young people in digital transformation as key tasks in the new revolutionary period.
