In the first friendly match of the training trip in Oman, the Vietnam U17 team won 1-0 against the host team U17 Oman. The only goal of the match was scored by Bui Duy Dang in the 82nd minute.
In order to serve the professional work of the two teams' coaching staff, the match took place on an empty field and without any media coverage. Both U17 Vietnam and U17 Oman took full advantage of the opportunity to review their squads, test their formations and tactics.

Head coach Cristiano Roland stressed the importance of these two friendly matches in Oman in the preparation for the 2025 AFC U17 Championship. This is a good opportunity for young players to gain international competition experience, practice their ability to adapt to different weather conditions and playing styles.
“We want to make the most of this opportunity to test our tactical capabilities, evaluate the progress of our players and correct any shortcomings before entering the 2025 AFC U17 Championship finals,” said coach Cristiano Roland.
Talking about the very strong opponents in the group, coach Cristiano Roland emphasized: “Just like in the qualifying round, we will try to solve each match in the final round. I have talked about the things that need to be improved since the qualifying round and have planned them in daily practice. We are always focused and aiming for the highest goal for Vietnamese football”.
According to the plan, the two teams will have a rematch at 0:30 on March 28 (Vietnam time). This is also the last match for U17 Vietnam to complete the final preparations before moving to Saudi Arabia to participate in the 2025 U17 Asian Cup.
