This morning, August 28, Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung had a meeting with the leaders of the joint venture of investors Minh Quang Investment, Trade and Technology Joint Stock Company (Minh Quang Company) and China Huadian Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. (Huadian Group) about the proposal for the Green Hydrogen Production Project. Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong also attended the meeting.

Minh Quang Company has the capacity and experience in multi-field business in Vietnam such as: renewable energy, biofuel, clean fuel. The company's orientation in the coming time will be to pioneer and contribute to the green transformation process, sustainable development in Vietnam in the field of green regeneration and green fuel.
The company is currently developing solar power generation projects in Dak Nong province with a total capacity of over 400 MW.
For Huadian Group, it is a comprehensive enterprise ranked among the top enterprises in the same industry in China. Its main activities are in the fields of electricity, chemical industry, ports, minerals, metallurgy...
With the desire to exploit and develop the potential and advantages of Quang Tri province in terms of wind and solar resources to produce Hydrogen and a biomass gasification system to synthesize green Methanol, the consortium of investors has researched and built a pre-feasibility report to propose the construction of a complex of wind power projects, solar power, storage systems combined with the production of Hydrogen and Methanol in Quang Tri.

Speaking at the reception, Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung briefly introduced the potentials and strengths of the province and the cooperative relationship between Quang Tri in particular and Vietnam in general with China in recent times.
It is emphasized that with favorable natural conditions, Quang Tri is an attractive destination for investors in the field of renewable energy. Up to now, the whole province has nearly 1,000 MW of electricity capacity, including wind power, solar power and thermal power.
On the other hand, in the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII), Quang Tri province has an additional 600 MW of renewable energy. Regarding the orientations, goals and wishes of the investor consortium, Quang Tri province agrees and highly supports.
Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung requested the investor consortium to complete the procedures, the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and branches to actively support and guide the investor to complete the project dossier, and to implement cooperation as soon as possible to accompany the province in developing clean energy sources.
| Regarding the Green Hydrogen Production Project, phase 1 of the project is expected to build a wind farm with a capacity of 265 MW, a solar farm with a capacity of 95 MWp/80 MW, with a BESS system with a capacity of 30 MW/30 MWh, a green Hydrogen production system with a capacity of 12,000 tons/year, and a green Methanol synthesis system with a scale of 100,000 tons/year. The project has a total investment of nearly 440 million USD. |
Deputy General Director of Hoa Dien Group Liu Wei, representative of the investor consortium, highly appreciated the potential and active support of Quang Tri province in cooperation and investment promotion activities and expressed his honor to cooperate with the locality.
At the same time, he promised to seriously accept the direction of the provincial leaders, and committed that the survey, research and project implementation process always strictly complied with the provisions of law.
