As the owner of a video channel with hundreds of thousands of followers, who regularly posts trending clips, Pham Thi Hue (nickname Hyee Pham, born in 2001, Phu Tho) sometimes receives comments like: "No talent other than a few dances on the internet".
Recently, the 22-year-old girl responded by showing off her personal achievements including: 10 consecutive years of excellent student in all subjects; won many awards for excellent students at district and city levels in literature and geography; valedictorian at Thang Long University; cooperated with Korean singers to promote Vietnamese tourism in 2021.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Hyee Pham said: "Appearing a lot on social networks has both positive and negative aspects. I don't blame people for thinking badly about me because I know, they don't know what my achievements are so that's normal. The reason I post "flex" (showing off my outstanding achievements) is to create motivation and a desire to learn for young people."
Top scorer
Since childhood, Hyee Pham has been nurtured with a love of music by her father and grandmother.
"When my grandmother was young, she joined the Yen Bai province's Cheo singing troupe because she had a very good voice. My father did not pursue a musical career but he also loved to sing. He worked hard all day, but when he turned on karaoke, all his fatigue seemed to disappear. Therefore, I gradually "absorbed" this hobby," she said.
Knowing that their daughter loved to sing, Hyee Pham's parents did not have enough money to send her to a gifted class. When the girl, born in 2001, graduated from high school, her parents did not agree to let her pursue a musical career because many people still said "singing is a lowly profession".
Being a stubborn person, Hyee Pham did not give up easily. She convinced her parents to change their minds.
"If I don't learn music, I won't learn anything else," she once asserted.

Hyee Pham also determined that if she failed the university entrance exam, she would both study by herself and work part-time to retake the exam next year. But luck smiled on her when she was admitted as valedictorian of the K32 music course, Faculty of Applied Music, Thang Long University.
"It was a huge surprise because I had never had any formal music lessons or exam preparation before. Everything was instinctive," she shared.
Opportunity to collaborate with Korean singer
When she was a student, Hyee Pham self-taught herself and recorded cover videos (singing again) and posted them on social networks. Two years ago, she suddenly "caused a storm" with her cover of "Let's Get Married" , while also showing off her rapping ability.
Thanks to that, Hyee Pham became more known and had some opportunities come to her. Besides having more things to do, she also tried to join 2 companies to work but nothing broke through.
In 2021, Hyee Pham had the opportunity to collaborate with Korean singer and musician Joseph Kwon to release the MV Butterfly Flakes to promote Vietnamese tourism on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea (1992-2022).
For more than 2 months, she and her crew traveled to more than 10 provinces and cities of Vietnam, stretching from North to South, to film at many famous tourist destinations.
"I got to know Joseph Kwon through my music arrangement teacher at university. I think it was because I was serious and willing to study hard that he introduced me. At first, I only came to record, but when the project developed further, I was lucky to be chosen as the female lead in the MV and started filming nationwide," she said.
Despite being busy with many outside activities, Hyee Pham still received a scholarship for excellent students. For her, studying is always the top priority.
"When I study and work at the same time, I have to balance my time so that I don't neglect my studies. But as soon as I have free time, I definitely have to go out and experience things, not letting myself have too much free time. Working is tiring, but I understand the value of money, love my parents more and because of that, I have to try harder," she said.
After 4 years, Hyee Pham graduated as valedictorian with honors, with a cumulative average score of 8.57/10.

Financial independence, building a house for parents
Currently, Hyee Pham’s main job has little to do with singing. She is a content creator, streamer, and freelancer. The 22-year-old girl said that during her 4 years in university, she was satisfied with her passion and was able to live it to the fullest.
"I don't regret choosing to study music because I believe that all my decisions were right. If I had made a different choice back then, I would probably still be reeling and regretting it. At this point, I understand what I want, what I need, and what I should do," she shared.
When she saved up some money, Hyee Pham immediately thought of showing filial piety to her parents (Photo: NVCC).
In fact, Hyee Pham started trying her hand at content creation and streaming 2 years ago. Thanks to that, she has a certain income from receiving donations from viewers.
Hyee Pham's proudest achievement this year was building a house for her parents with the money she had saved over many years.
"My family used to live in a thatched house. It leaked when it rained, and living was inconvenient. Therefore, my parents' lifelong dream was to live in a brick house.
My parents spent all their money and labor to raise me, so when I had money, I immediately thought about fulfilling my parents' wishes," she said.
Hyee Pham said that before having the opportunity to be invited to perform, she did many manual jobs such as maid, bread seller, waitress... Among them, livestreaming gave her the best income.
"Although it's just a normal house, it's the result of all my hard work and effort during my university years," said the girl from Phu Tho.
Hyee Pham is learning more business skills because she wants to be able to do more things. Although she does not have any outstanding music products yet, she hopes that in the future she will have the opportunity to fulfill this wish.
"Through my story, I just want to share with my peers that believe in yourself. No matter what job you are doing, if it is honest, it is worth the effort. I always believe that effort and a desire to learn will bring results," she advised.
