Closing Ceremony of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025: “Buon Ma Thuot – Coffee City”

On the evening of March 13, at 10/3 Square, Buon Ma Thuot City, the Closing Ceremony of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 took place with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot - Coffee City".

Attending the closing ceremony were comrades: Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; Huynh Thi Chien Hoa - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Ngoc Nghi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Tuan Ha - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of central ministries, departments and branches; former leaders of the province; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, departments, branches and localities in the province; representatives of international organizations, sponsors, domestic and foreign enterprises and a large number of tourists and people of all ethnic groups in the area.

After 5 days of organization (from March 9 to March 13, 2025), the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of world coffee" was a great success, achieving the set goals and leaving many impressions on the people and tourists when coming to Dak Lak to participate in the series of events. In particular, this year's Festival took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory, the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025), making the March days in Buon Ma Thuot city in particular and Dak Lak province in general more meaningful.

The success of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 is a strong driving force in the journey towards the goal of building Dak Lak province to develop rapidly, be rich, civilized, and have its own identity, creating a solid foundation together with the whole country to enter the "New Era - The Era of National Growth". Thereby continuing to honor Vietnamese coffee products, especially the brand and geographical indication of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee in the international arena; promoting the development of high-quality coffee and specialty coffee; promoting potential and strengths to promote trade and investment; spreading traditional cultural values, solidarity and unity in diversity; is an opportunity to strengthen the solidarity and friendship between Dak Lak province and localities of fraternal countries and international organizations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van emphasized that the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 has been carefully and effectively prepared, 17 official activities and many activities responding to the Festival taking place in all localities in the province have left a deep impression on the public.

The festival attracted about 250,000 visitors, including 1,800 international visitors to the province, contributing to the success and influence of the festival. Notably, General Director of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) Vanusia Noguiera attended the festival and delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. This is the first time an international representative has come to the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, marking an important step forward in enhancing the position of Vietnamese coffee on the world map as well as opening up great opportunities for the Vietnamese coffee industry to expand cooperation with international organizations and markets.

Some outstanding results of the Festival include: At the 50th Anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory, the liberation of Dak Lak province and the Festival, Dak Lak province welcomed 28 delegations with 188 international guests. Many activities attracted coffee import-export enterprises, experts, domestic and foreign tourists to attend such as: The specialized exhibition fair for coffee and OCOP products attracted the participation of 180 units with 435 booths, including 12 booths of 6 foreign enterprises, with a total of 175,000 visitors to the fair (an average of 35,000 visitors/day).

The art program has the participation of Festival Media Ambassadors.

The International Trade Conference - Connecting and Elevating Vietnamese Coffee attracted 730 delegates to discuss, find opportunities and solutions to develop sustainable coffee, increase the value of Vietnamese coffee. The Farmers' Competition with the participation of 7 provinces and cities. The Coffee Camp attracted 16 teams and more than 20,000 visitors. The Vietnam Specialty Coffee Roasting Competition 2025 had the participation of 36 excellent candidates from 13 provinces and cities nationwide. The Free Coffee Festival was enthusiastically responded to by people and businesses with 430 coffee shops registering to serve free coffee...

For cultural activities, innovation in organization has brought wonderful experiences to visitors. Typical is the Street Festival with a 360-degree stage at the Buon Ma Thuot Six-Way Monument - the place marking the historic victory of March 10, 1975. The vibrant and eye-catching Light Festival with the impressive performance of more than 500 drones, creating great attraction for people, especially young people and tourists.

Along with that, tourists coming to Dak Lak have experienced extremely attractive tours, participated in traditional festivals: Buon Don Elephant Festival, Lak District Dugout Canoe Racing Festival...

At this Festival, Dak Lak province is very honored that “Knowledge of growing and processing Dak Lak coffee” has been decided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to be included in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is a recognition of the traditional values, techniques of growing and processing coffee of the province, the pride of coffee farmers, the coffee industry, and Dak Lak province in general.

Also during the Festival, Dak Lak province held the groundbreaking ceremony of the Trade Center - Hotel - Housing Complex project at 2 Mai Hac De, Buon Ma Thuot city; the groundbreaking ceremony of the Phu Xuan Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project. These are major projects that will contribute to changing the urban appearance of Buon Ma Thuot city, promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

In addition, within the framework of the Festival, the enterprise broke ground on the Trung Nguyen Legend Coffee Factory - the largest coffee factory in Southeast Asia, affirming the special position of Dak Lak province as the Coffee Capital of Vietnam, while bringing Buon Ma Thuot closer and closer to its aspiration and goal of becoming the "Coffee City of the World".

Recognizing the contributions of organizations and individuals to the overall success of the Festival, at the ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 26 groups and 7 individuals who had made many contributions and sponsorships to the Festival's activities.

The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 was a great success and left many impressions on the people and tourists.

At the closing ceremony, the people and tourists enjoyed a special art program with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot - Coffee City" including three chapters: Come and listen to the wind tell; Legend of a love; Buon Ma Thuot Coffee - Connecting friends' arms. The art program gathered many famous singers and artists such as: Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan; Meritorious Artist Y Yoel Knul; Truc Nhan, Ngo Lan Huong... with the participation of two Festival Media Ambassadors: Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H'Hen Nie and Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa.
