On March 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications) held a closing ceremony for the 2024 Press Speaking and Information Providing Skills class.
From March 18-25, the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center organized training courses for Spokespersons in 2024. Participants were officials from departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, Thu Duc City and related units.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the class provided basic skills for spokespersons and communication with the media.
The knowledge is aimed at the ability to behave with the press in accordance with regulations, laws and policies. From there, effectively implement the general communication strategy of Ho Chi Minh City with major plans and important events.
"In communication work, we need to communicate proactively to limit passivity when there is a communication crisis. Preparation, consultation, and planning steps are essential when implementing policies and laws to gain people's support and create consensus in society through working with the press and media," said Mr. Hoi.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, spoke at the closing ceremony on March 25.
This is an activity to implement the tasks of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on strengthening the work of speaking and providing information to the press.
The training program aims to help cadres and leaders of units grasp regulations on speaking, organizing communication work at the grassroots level, implementing effective relations and communication with the press, and handling media crisis situations.
During the course, 274 participants received knowledge and experience from lecturers who are experts and journalists with experience and practice in the field of journalism and communication on 6 topics.
The content of the course is assessed by most students as practical, appropriate, and meets basic requirements. The teaching staff is assessed as having easy-to-understand presentation and communication methods. The illustrative examples and situations given by the lecturers are appropriate to reality.
