Arrested a group that tricked and sold girls to karaoke bars in Binh Duong

This group includes: Nguyen Van Cong (54 years old, from Nghe An), Mai Trung Dung (43 years old, from Kien Giang) and Phan Thi Hoai Thuong (26 years old, from Nghe An).

All three are being investigated by the police for human trafficking. Cong and Dung are in police custody, while Thuong is out on bail because she has a young child to take care of.

According to the investigation, Cong is the manager of a karaoke bar in Tan Dong Hiep ward, Di An city. To have employees, Cong contacted Thuong and Dung to help find people.

Thuong and Dung set up Facebook pages to post recruitment information with attractive offers of “easy work, high salary”.

In December 2023, Cong and Dung tricked 3 girls and took them to a karaoke bar to deliver them to Cong. For each victim, the group was paid 5-8 million VND. Cong recorded this amount as a debit and deducted it from the female waitresses' wages.

The investigation determined that Cong and Dung's actions showed signs of human trafficking.

Di An City Police are continuing to investigate and clarify.
