Among the names receiving much attention at the present time, Russian female writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya (80 years old) is mentioned a lot. Her novels explore personal life and relationships but also reflect the great stories of history and religion.

British writer Salman Rushdie (76 years old) is also considered a promising author. Mr. Rushdie survived a serious knife attack last year, when he attended an event to share with the audience about the topic of literature.

For many years, writer Rushdie had to live in seclusion because of his novel The Satanic Verses , a work that has caused controversy among Muslims in Iran since its release in 1988. A wave of anger has arisen because Salman Rushdie's work is considered to be excessive and blasphemous.

By choosing names like Lyudmila Ulitskaya or Salman Rushdie, the Swedish Academy would have chosen authors who promote freedom of expression and literary creativity. Such a choice would be considered very bold, indicating that the Swedish Academy has made a decision to distance itself from current affairs and stories outside of literature.

However, the choice that the Swedish Academy has often made up to now is to give the prize to authors who are little known to the majority of the world's literary public.

At this time, Chinese female writer Tan Tuyet (70 years old) is being mentioned a lot. In the literary world in her homeland, writer Tan Tuyet is known as a bold creative writer, a pioneer with new experiments in literature.

In fact, the Swedish Academy has been criticized for awarding the prize to many white, male writers living in Western countries. In an effort to make the prize more accessible to the international literary community and public, the Swedish Academy is likely to make a surprising choice.

After experiencing some controversy in 2018, the Swedish Academy has made great efforts to make the award ceremony create a good effect in the international literary world.

Last year, the Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Annie Ernaux, a female writer whose works focus on women. In 2021, the prize was awarded to British-Tanzanian writer Abdulrazak Gurnah, whose works explore themes of diaspora, racism and the consequences of colonialism.

In recent years, the way the Nobel Prize in Literature is selected and awarded has shown that the Swedish Academy has made efforts to change and renew the award. The purpose is to reflect equality among literary cultures, as well as to honor authors whose works reflect the issues of the times.

Currently, the members of the Swedish Academy - the people who are responsible for voting for the Nobel Prize in Literature - are all writers, historians, philosophers, linguists... Many of them have been involved in activities promoting freedom of expression and equality.

Therefore, predicting the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in recent years has become even more difficult, due to the unpredictable nature of the nomination and winner selection process.

The names that have always received high expectations during the Nobel Literature Prize seasons, such as Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, Kenyan writer Ngugi wa Thiong'o, or Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, continue to be mentioned by many literary sites. However, the activity of predicting the name that will be announced has gradually lost its appeal over time.

In order to make the prize more up-to-date and reflect the diversity of the contemporary literary world, the Swedish Academy sought advice from experts who were not members of the academy.

This move was made so that the Swedish Academy could have a more general view of the world's literary scene, of literature in countries that have not been mentioned much in the international literary scene.

These changes have made it more difficult to predict the winner. Therefore, the waiting process until the official announcement of the Nobel Prize in Literature has caused excitement and suspense in the international literature community.
