Two new experiments, "Making Soap" and "Sound Retention," are designed similar to online games, making scientific research more fun and practical for students.
In total, 14 experiments were shared with Vietnamese students to inspire their passion for science, thereby encouraging them to learn more about the role of natural science in everyday life.
The "Soap Making" experiment helps children learn about the process of making soap and its role in maintaining hygiene. This fun and educational game also introduces children to the importance of maintaining good hygiene habits to ensure safety and health.
The “Sound Capture” experiment takes children into the world of sound. Using everyday objects such as rubber bands and used milk cartons, children can make simple musical instruments, as well as learn about sound waves and sound measurements. This experiment combines science, music and creativity, inspiring them to explore the fascinating world of science through everyday phenomena and objects.
“In a world where science plays a particularly important role in everyday life, it is essential to nurture a passion for chemistry in the next generation,” said Mr. Erick Contreras, General Director of BASF Vietnam.
Since 2018, BASF has collaborated with the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to introduce 14 Vietnamese-language experiments in the "BASF Virtual Lab" program to primary school students, contributing to Vietnam's STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education program, thereby equipping the young generation with necessary skills and knowledge.
BASF Virtual Lab is an initiative of BASF Kids' Lab, which offers a variety of fun and interactive hands-on experiments. Children can explore these experiments anytime, anywhere, playing the role of a researcher in a virtual lab.

Each experiment is accompanied by clear, child-friendly instructions and explanations by the animated character Dr. Bubble, the lab leader, making complex concepts easy to understand and fun. BASF Vietnam continues to prioritize community engagement programs, with a focus on educational development.
BASF Kids' Lab, in partnership with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training since 2011, organizes fun experimental activities to help children learn about chemistry and natural sciences, benefiting approximately 5,000 primary school students.
In collaboration with social enterprises such as Think Playgrounds, seven public playgrounds have been built in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, supporting approximately 32,000 children through play-based learning activities. In addition, BASF and its partners, in cooperation with the NGO Saigon Children's Charity, have joined hands to support the renovation of seven schools, contributing to the education development program in Vietnam since 2015.
