After the Lunar New Year, the amount of household waste generated often increases. To ensure environmental sanitation and create a bright, green, clean and beautiful landscape in the first days of the New Year, localities and units have proactively implemented plans to collect waste and clean the environment before, during and after the Lunar New Year.
Walking around Viet Tri city, in the first days of the new year of At Ty 2025, there was no accumulation of household waste at collection points, the streets were clean. Through discussion with Mr. Ha Ngoc Kien - Deputy Director of Viet Tri Urban Environment and Services Joint Stock Company, it is known that the days before and after Tet are the times when the amount of household waste discharged into the environment increases dramatically compared to normal. On average, each day, the amount of waste collected and transported for treatment in the city and some neighboring areas increases 3-4 times compared to other days of the year.
To ensure a clean environment for the city, the Company has drastically implemented solutions, mobilized all forces and means to participate in collecting and transporting waste, determined to strive not to let waste accumulate on the streets and public places. Accordingly, units are required to strengthen environmental sanitation work, focus on human resources and means to collect and transport all waste soil and waste generated during the day, not to let waste accumulate overnight and accumulate, pollute and cause loss of beauty on the streets, public places, especially on main streets, locations of events celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring...
Every year, the Company proactively builds a plan for Tet duty very early. 100% of environmental workers and green workers participate in overtime work, extra shifts on days before Tet and the first days after Tet. In addition, the Company also mobilizes dozens of vehicles such as garbage compactors of all kinds, street water sprayers, garbage trucks to perform tasks, ensuring sanitation quality and urban beauty in the first days of Spring. At the same time, to ensure environmental sanitation, Viet Tri Urban Environment and Services Joint Stock Company also coordinates with residential groups to organize general cleaning of alleys during Tet. At the same time, strengthen propaganda, mobilize, guide people to classify waste, keep the neighborhood clean, and dispose of garbage on time and in the right place.
Along with Viet Tri city, in urban areas and residential areas throughout the province, environmental protection work during and after the Lunar New Year has also been carried out seriously and effectively. The authorities of districts, towns and establishments have strengthened environmental protection work, thoroughly monitored and regularly inspected production and service establishments in the area; directed the classification of waste at source, collection and transportation of waste in residential areas before and after the Lunar New Year. Cooperatives and cooperative groups that collect and transport waste have also returned to maintain their work, ensuring that there is no waste left in concentrated residential areas, markets, public places, places where festivals are held, main traffic routes, etc.
Keeping the environment green is not only the duty of each individual and organization during the Lunar New Year, but also the responsibility of each citizen. It can be seen that people's daily living habits are changing in a positive direction, contributing significantly to environmental protection. The trend of green consumption during Tet is through prioritizing the choice of products with environmentally friendly packaging; limiting the use of disposable plastic products, replacing them with reusable products; minimizing the burning of votive paper, fireworks... In addition, households have also been aware of collecting garbage on time and in the right place; not littering when going out in the spring, actively sorting waste at the source, participating in planting trees in the house and around the living area; proactively responding to environmental protection activities in the locality to join hands in keeping the environment green...
