Frost appears in Ta Xua in mid-March

The outdoor temperature dropped to 0°C, causing frost to appear on the top of Ta Xua mountain (Yen Bai), 2,865m above sea level.

On the morning of March 19, answering reporters of VTC News Electronic Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Ban Cong commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai confirmed that frost appeared on the top of Ta Xua mountain.

Frost started forming last night and gradually melted around 7am this morning.

"The temperature here dropped sharply last night. According to tour guides in this area, they wore 4 warm coats but still felt cold. In the cold season, frost still appears on the top of Ta Xua, but frost appearing in March is a rare phenomenon, the first time in the past 10 years," said the leader of Ban Cong commune.

This is the second time in 2025 that Ta Xua mountain peak has seen frost. Previously, this phenomenon was first recorded on January 11.

Ta Xua Peak is 2,865m above sea level. This is the natural border mountain between Yen Bai and Son La provinces.

Today's forecast is that although the weather is still cold, the temperature in the North will gradually increase, and the warm sunshine will expand. From March 20, this area will still be cold at night and in the morning when the cold air weakens. In the last days of March, the sunshine will be stronger, many places will reach 30°C, and some places will even experience hot weather.
