On the afternoon of November 28, Ms. Nguyen To Quyen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ward 7, Ca Mau City (Ca Mau) said that she had handed over the abandoned baby girl to her family to take care of.

"After the information about the abandoned baby girl was posted on social media, this afternoon (November 28 - PV ), the baby's grandfather and uncle came to claim her back. After verifying with the local authorities, as well as the HU Minh Police (Ca Mau), we found that the baby's identity matched what her relatives had declared, so we handed her over to her family," Ms. Quyen added.

Previously, at around 5am on November 27, residents in Alley 100, Group 6, Ward 7 discovered a baby girl abandoned in front of a resident’s house and reported it to the authorities. Afterwards, a resident took the baby home to temporarily care for her while waiting to find her relatives.

According to the announcement of Ward 7 People's Committee, the baby girl is about 6 months old, weighs 7.1 kg, and is 68 cm tall. She was found in a cardboard box, wearing a white long-sleeved T-shirt and accompanied by a red plastic basket containing a milk bottle, diapers, and clothes.

The person who received the child, the grandfather of the abandoned girl, said that the child's mother had been sick since childhood and was a single mother. After taking the child away on November 27, the family has not been able to contact her. Thanks to information shared on social networks, he and his family learned about the news and came to receive the child. This person also said that the family lives in Nguyen Phich commune, Minh HU (Ca Mau).
