According to the audited consolidated financial report for 2022, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk - stock code: VNM) spent about VND 23.19 billion on remuneration for the Board of Directors. Of which, Ms. Mai Kieu Lien - member of the Board of Directors and General Director received a remuneration of more than VND 2 billion for the position of member of the Board of Directors, a decrease of VND 51 million compared to 2021. In addition, Ms. Lien also received a salary of VND 366 million/month for the position of General Director. In total, in 2022, Vinamilk paid Ms. Lien nearly VND 6.5 billion in remuneration for the Board of Directors and General Director salary, equivalent to more than VND 538 million per month. Born in France and educated in Russia, Ms. Mai Kieu Lien returned and has been associated with Vinamilk since its early days, the predecessor of the Southern Coffee - Milk Company in 1976. From her initial job as an engineer, Ms. Mai Kieu Lien was entrusted with the position of General Director of Vinamilk from 1992 to present. In 2003, when Vinamilk was equitized, she concurrently held the position of Chairwoman of the Board of Directors. Under her leadership, Vinamilk became one of the successfully equitized state-owned enterprises in Vietnam with the second largest market capitalization, about 5 billion USD (equivalent to more than 100,000 billion VND), revenue in 2014 reached nearly 36,000 billion VND, net profit of over 6,000 billion VND. During her time working at Vinamilk, Ms. Lien also received many prestigious awards such as the 20th Nikkei Asia Prize presented by Nikkei newspaper, Japan in 2015. This is the only award given to only 3 fields: Economics - Science - Culture. Ms. Mai Kieu Lien represents Vietnam to win the award in the economic field for her regional and world-class contributions. The Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vinamilk was also voted by Forbes Magazine of the US as one of the 48 most outstanding
female entrepreneurs in Asia in 2014. Previously, in 2012, Forbes Magazine also voted her into the top 50 powerful female entrepreneurs in Asia. Next, the Asian Corporate Governance Magazine (headquartered in Hong Kong, China) voted her to receive the "Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2012" (Asia's best individuals/companies in 2012). But the award is just an award, for her, the mission of turning "Vinamilk into the number 1 symbol of trust in Vietnam for nutritional and health products serving human life" is her goal in her life as an entrepreneur.
