Quacquarelli Symonds has just announced the results of the 2024 Asian University Rankings (QS AUR 2024).
This year, Vietnam has 15 schools in the rankings (4 more than last year). Of these, Duy Tan University has the highest position - 115 among the schools in our country ranked this year.
Six higher education institutions dropped in rank compared to last year: Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Hanoi National University of Education.
Three new universities appeared in this year's rankings: University of Transport, Van Lang University and Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

In the QS AUR 2024 ranking, QS ranked 857 higher education institutions in Asia (of which 149 were ranked for the first time).
The rankings are based on an analysis of responses from more than 2.1 million academics and 617,000 employers worldwide. In addition, QS analyzed more than 141.6 million citations (2017-2022) from 17.6 million scientific publications (2017-2021).
QS continues to maintain the quality assessment method based on 11 criteria. Of which, the highest scoring criterion is "Academic evaluation" with 30% of the score, "Employer evaluation" accounts for 20% of the score. Three other criteria are calculated at 10% of the score: "Lecturer/student ratio"; "Citation/scientific article ratio, international research network".
This year, Peking University (China) continues to lead the Asian rankings. Next are the University of Hong Kong (China) and the National University of Singapore. Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Tsinghua University (China) are tied for fourth place. Among the top 10 schools in Asia, there are also 3 schools from China and 2 schools from Korea.
