Hanoi University of Science and Technology reduces the quota for considering high school graduation exam scores in 2025

Hanoi University of Science and Technology maintains the same three admission methods as last year, of which 40% of the quota is based on high school graduation exam scores in 2025, a decrease of about 10% compared to last year.


On the morning of January 15, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced its plan for regular university enrollment in 2025.

Accordingly, Hanoi University of Science and Technology enrolls 9,680 students. The school maintains 3 stable enrollment methods: Talent selection method (20%); selection method based on Thinking Assessment test scores (40%); selection method based on 2025 high school graduation exam scores (40%).

Compared to 2024, the admission quota based on high school graduation exam scores will decrease by about 10%, while the capacity assessment method will increase the admission quota by 10%.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to enroll 65 training programs, including: 37 mass programs (standard programs), 23 high-quality programs - Elitech, 2 PFIEV programs, and 3 international training joint programs.

The school continues to convert VSTEP English certificates or international certificates equivalent to IELTS 5.0 or higher into English subject scores when considering admission based on graduation exam scores in groups that include this subject.

In the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the school keeps the same 10 admission combinations, including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28 and D29 and adds a new combination K01 including the subjects: Math, Literature, Physics/Chemistry/Biology/IT.

Regarding the 2025 thinking assessment exam, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to have 3 exam sessions on Saturdays and Sundays.

Previously, the school opened registration for the first round of exams from December 1-6, 2024. The first round of exams will be held on January 18-19, 2025.

Round 2 exam dates are March 8-9, registration opens February 1-6; Round 3 exam dates are April 26-27, registration opens April 1-6.

This year, the thinking assessment exam was held in 13 provinces/cities including: Hanoi, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Da Nang.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that up to now, more than 50 universities have used exam results for admission.

The fields that can use the thinking assessment test results for university admission include: Science, technology, and engineering fields; economics, foreign trade, finance, and banking fields; medicine and pharmacy fields; and industry and agriculture fields.
