After a long time dominating the "green race" in Southeast Asia, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien is now focusing on her studies at the Faculty of Sports Training, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports. Recently, the swimmer nicknamed "little mermaid" won first prize at the 2023 National Student Scientific Research Conference on Physical Education and Sports. In addition to her studies, Anh Vien also spends time teaching swimming directly to children at the swimming club named after her in Thu Duc City.

Recently, the image of Nguyen Thi Anh Vien enthusiastically teaching and spreading the love of swimming to children at a free swimming class for children organized by the Central Council of Young Pioneers has created a positive effect. Anh Vien's appearance has increased the children's interest and confidence in practicing swimming. Sharing with reporters of the People's Army Newspaper, Anh Vien expressed: "At the free swimming class, I have the opportunity to interact and popularize swimming knowledge to children. I really want to contribute more to reduce the tragic drowning accidents that often happen to Vietnamese children."
From the positive effects, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers continued to invite Anh Vien to be the ambassador of the program to prevent drowning for children. In the coming time, Anh Vien will visit some localities, especially remote areas, to inspire people to swim. Anh Vien said: "My wish is to convey the love of swimming to children so that they can have the opportunity to practice physical training and prevent drowning effectively. Participating in social activities is my responsibility, and I am a soldier so I need to promote it more."
Assessing the social activities of Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Colonel Pham Thanh Hai, Assistant to the Sports Department, Military Training Department, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, said: "After a long time shining in international arenas, bringing glory to the Army and the country's sports, Anh Vien has had useful, meaningful and humane activities when spreading the spirit of swimming practice, teaching drowning prevention skills to children. This is a commendable work that needs to be replicated. We believe that Anh Vien will continue to promote her strengths, spread the image of swimming practice in the community, participate in training and contribute to reducing the risk of drowning accidents for Vietnamese children."
