The Vietnamese student team won 4 bronze medals at the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad, the remaining 4 students were awarded certificates of merit.
According to the results on May 28 from the organizing committee of the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad (APhO), the bronze medals went to Phan The Manh and Nguyen Tuan Phong, both 12th graders from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted; Vo Hoang Hai, 11th grader from the Natural Sciences High School, Hanoi National University, and Than The Cong, 11th grader from Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.
The remaining four students from the Vietnamese delegation are Vu Ngo Hoang Duong, from the Natural Sciences High School, Nguyen Minh Tai Loc, from the Quoc Hoc High School (Thua Thien - Hue); Le Viet Hoang Anh, from Lam Son High School (Thanh Hoa); Nguyen Tuan Duong, from Tran Phu High School (Hai Phong) and received certificates of merit from the organizing committee. All four students are currently in grade 12.
Among them, Vo Hoang Hai and Vu Ngo Hoang Duong won bronze medals in this competition last year.

With this result, Vietnam is one of 7 delegations with 100% of students winning prizes.
The 2023 Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad will be hosted by Mongolia from May 21 to 29. This year's competition will feature 26 teams with 195 contestants. Contestants will take both theoretical and practical exams, each lasting 300 minutes.
Last year, the Vietnamese delegation won 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals and 5 certificates of merit. In total, Vietnam has participated in this competition 22 times.
