On December 14, a representative of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said that they had just issued an official dispatch responding to the handling of the doctoral thesis of Ms. Le Thi An Hoa - head of the scientific research department (Hue Monuments Conservation Center) - which was concluded to have plagiarism.
The document was signed and issued by Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training).
Accordingly, after receiving an official dispatch from Hue University regarding the handling of a complaint about Ms. Hoa's doctoral thesis being accused of plagiarism, the Ministry of Education and Training reviewed and commented on this matter.
The Ministry of Education and Training requested Hue University to re-evaluate this doctoral thesis, thereby determining the disciplinary action against Ms. Hoa.
In case the thesis no longer meets the requirements of a doctoral thesis, Hue University needs to consider the responsibility of the council that approved the above doctoral thesis.
Hue University needs to report to the Ministry of Education and Training before January 31, 2025.
Previously, Hue University received a complaint that the doctoral thesis "The process of formation, development and transformation of royal festivals in Hue from 1802 to 1945" by Ms. Le Thi An Hoa contained plagiarism and misused historical materials.
After receiving the application, Hue University verified and concluded that plagiarism appeared in this thesis.
