Having to stop studying due to poverty, female economics student becomes '5 Good Students'

On March 15, Hue University of Economics organized a youth camp attracting hundreds of students. The program lasted all day, with many attractive activities, an opportunity for students to express their youthful spirit and enthusiasm .

On this occasion, Hue University of Economics also honored 120 students who achieved the title of "5 Good Students" (Good Study - Good Ethics - Good Volunteer - Good Physical Strength - Good Integration).

Through the introduction of Mr. Ton That Le Hoang Thien, Vice President of Hue University Student Association, President of the Student Association of Hue University of Economics, Thanh Nien reporter got to know Le Thi Trang, an excellent female student in studying and working in the Youth Union - Association.

Trang is also a shining example of effort and progress in life .

Sharing with reporters after being recognized in front of thousands of students, Trang was filled with emotion: "I not only try for myself but also try for the expectations of my parents back home."

Speaking of this, Trang was moved to tears.

Trang was born into a poor family in Ha Tinh province. Her family only had a few hectares of rice fields, and their main source of income also depended on that.

During her high school years, after school hours, Trang would quickly put away her books as soon as she got home to go to the fields with her parents. There were days when Trang traveled dozens of kilometers to the city to work as a waitress at a restaurant to earn money to help her mother with meals.

There were years when the weather was harsh and the crops failed, so my family had to borrow cans of rice from relatives and neighbors.

"In such difficult circumstances, have you ever thought about having to drop out of school?". In response to this question, Trang confided: "In 2020 and 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic occurred, my father could not work in the fields, and my mother could not work for anyone, so she could not earn any money. That year, although my graduation exam results were quite good and I was accepted into many schools, I had to take a year off because I did not have enough money to go to school. During that time, I worked part-time and saved a little to go to university the following year."

For this strong student, it seems that the difficulties in life have never stopped her dream of going to school.

The year Trang was admitted to the Business Administration Department of the University of Economics - Hue University, her family was both happy and worried because... they had no money. But in the end, Trang still took the bus to Hue, carrying with her many dreams and ambitions.

In a foreign land, the female student once again affirmed her mettle. While studying, Trang also applied for a part-time job, actively participated in the school's Youth Union and Association activities to improve her life skills... After 3 years of striving, Trang "reaped the first sweet fruits" when she was one of the "5 Good Students" at the school level thanks to her outstanding achievements.

"In class, I try to build lessons to get good grades. I always have a clear review process to get high scores in exams. In the future, I want to become a business specialist. But with current conditions, I think I still have to try harder," Trang said modestly.
