This event not only affirms Betrimex's pioneering role and proactive spirit in promoting fresh coconut exports, but also demonstrates the determination of enterprises in seizing the golden opportunity just over a month after the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the General Administration of Customs of China officially signed 3 important protocols on the export of agricultural products (including fresh coconuts) to the Chinese market.

According to the strategic cooperation agreement, Betrimex will be the exclusive partner of the Jiangnan-Guangzhou Fruit Import Association in supplying and importing fresh coconuts to the Guangzhou market in particular and China in general. The two sides committed to close cooperation to ensure a stable supply and product quality that meets export standards. At the same time, both sides will also coordinate to implement trade promotion, advertising and communication activities to enhance brand awareness and expand market share for Vietnamese fresh coconut products not only in Guangzhou but also in the entire Chinese market. Betrimex General Director Tran Que Trang shared: Exporting fresh coconuts to China is part of Betrimex's long-term strategy. We have proactively prepared since the protocol was still in the negotiation stage, from building standard raw material areas to researching and ensuring the extremely strict export standards of the billion-people market. Betrimex has also been working with the Vietnam Coconut Association to promote and seek potential partners for over a year… It is known that Betrimex is already a familiar name in the Chinese market. Many of the company’s deep-processed products such as: Coconut water, coconut milk, coconut cream, coconut oil… have won over consumers in China. Betrimex is also the only coconut enterprise in Vietnam to achieve China Organic certification, with coconut growing areas meeting quality standards.

Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Coconut Association Cao Ba Dang Khoa said: "Immediately after the protocol was issued, we have made continuous efforts to connect Vietnamese enterprises with Chinese partners". The Vietnam Coconut Association forecasts that with the signing of the protocol allowing the official export of fresh coconuts to China, our country's fresh coconut export turnover this year could reach 250 million USD, accounting for 25% of the total export turnover of the coconut industry. On this occasion, the Vietnam Coconut Association and the Hainan Coconut Association signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the Hainan Coconut Association Information Center in Vietnam. This center will act as a bridge for information on coconut prices, providing Chinese traders with data on coconut prices in Vietnam and vice versa, Vietnamese enterprises will be updated with information on the prices of coconut products in the Chinese market. This cooperation aims to build sustainable chains, creating a transparent and safe business environment for coconut businesses in both countries. China is currently the world's largest consumer and importer of coconut products. In the period 2018-2023, China's import of coconut products increased significantly: Dried coconut increased by 106%, frozen coconut milk increased by 378%, fresh coconut increased by 120%... With the signing of memorandums of understanding, as well as the initiative of coconut businesses, along with the support of the Vietnam Coconut Association and the orientation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnamese coconut industry is expected to have new developments in the coming time.
