Iranian cinema has long been a vibrant and thriving industry, renowned for its distinctive minimalist style and emotional storytelling. The first Iranian talking film was produced 90 years ago, just five years after the Lumière brothers invented cinema.
As one of the world's oldest and most revered cinematic traditions, Iranian films consistently make a significant impact at domestic and international film festivals, winning global recognition and acclaim, including at the Oscars, Cannes and Berlin.
In recent years, Iranian cinema has also had a notable presence at the Hanoi International Film Festival, winning many prestigious awards and further cementing its reputation as a cinematic powerhouse of excellence.
The 2025 Iranian Film Week in Hanoi is a testament to the enduring power of cinema in connecting cultures and nations. It is also a meaningful cultural event that contributes to enhancing cultural understanding between the people of Vietnam and Iran.
