Implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), Vietnam has now officially exported many agricultural products to the Chinese market; including fresh coconuts, which have just been approved by China for official import from Vietnam. Previously, fresh coconuts from Vietnam were exported to more than 15 countries around the world. This is a fruit that is harvested all year round and when transporting fresh coconuts for export, it is necessary to use standard refrigerated containers, keeping the temperature stable throughout the journey.

The first batch of fresh coconuts exported from Song Than International Transit Station to Guangzhou (China) included 3 containers weighing 67.5 tons originating from Tien Giang province with a value of about 220,000 Yuan. It is expected that this batch of fresh coconuts will arrive at its destination within 7 days. Transporting the first batch of fresh coconuts exported to China by rail is a new mode of transportation, with the advantages of stable transportation time, quick customs procedures for import and export to China, and lower logistics costs compared to road transport.

Song Than International Transit Station is located in Di An city (Binh Duong province), in the center of the Southern Key Economic Zone and is very convenient for transporting import and export goods between Vietnam and China, especially exported fruits. Currently, the Ministry of Transport has been implementing projects to upgrade and renovate Song Than International Transit Station; it is expected that in the period of 2025-2030, after completing these projects, the station's capacity will reach 3.5 million tons/year and become the largest freight station in the system of railway stations in Vietnam. After the infrastructure serving logistics activities is completed and meets all requirements, Vietnam Railways Corporation plans to exploit Song Than International Transit Station to organize inter-route trains running directly from the station to China, transiting to third countries and vice versa...
