Practical work
Meeting Mr. Ly Kim Loi on a summer morning in his family's lush, fruit-laden vineyard in Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district, we were impressed by the Dao man with a gentle, honest smile and the story of the "green startup" path he chose. In 2019, he brought Ha Den grape trees to plant on Tan Son hill with the desire to get rich on his homeland. After testing the acidity and using soil deacidification techniques, he bought seedlings to plant and built sturdy iron poles with a nylon roof so that the trees have a place to climb, preventing the trellis from falling during heavy rains and strong winds. The fertilizer is mainly vermicompost from base fertilizer to top dressing, so his Ha Den grape trees grow strongly, producing large, juicy, delicious quality fruit.
With his market sensitivity, he has produced in a chain and cultivated organically to produce clean products that suit consumer tastes. From an area of 5 sao, more than 400 Ha Den grape trees, his farm now has more than 1,000 grape trees on an area of 7,000m2 with 2 types of Ha Den grapes and Korean milk grapes. Currently, each harvest yields over 3 tons of fruit, generating revenue of 600 million VND/crop, becoming a typical green startup model, attracting many Youth Union members to visit and learn from experience.
He shared: Green startups are a trend that is spreading strongly among young people. The common feature is that products from green startups are very friendly, safe for health and protect nature in a sustainable way.
Flexibility and creativity in implementing activities are the highlights that Ha Hoa youth have achieved, affirming their pioneering role in environmental protection. The District Youth Union has directed and guided the Youth Union bases based on the characteristics and actual situation of their localities and units to build teams, groups, and groups to participate in environmental protection work, especially in communes that are in the process of building and perfecting environmental criteria in new rural construction.
The movements were actively implemented such as: Program "For a green Vietnam", "Anti-plastic waste", "Green Sunday" ... along with many practical and meaningful activities, creating a clean and beautiful landscape in the area. Comrade Truong Nguyen Quan - Secretary of Ha Hoa District Youth Union said: Due to actively following the hot spots of environmental pollution and the practical needs of the locality and units, these activities achieved positive results in both improving the environmental landscape and raising awareness of the Youth Union and the People.
Since the beginning of the year, Ha Hoa youth have built a model of "Anti-plastic waste" with 10 billboards by reusing motorbike tires with messages such as: "Say no to plastic waste", "Join hands to build a cultural life, civilized urban areas"... in Zone 10, Ha Hoa town, the model "Market to reduce plastic waste" in Phuong Vien commune. Organized 2 "Green Sunday" launches simultaneously in 20 communes and towns with over 1,000 youth union members participating, cleaning and sanitizing 23 cemeteries and memorials; cleaning 25 village roads and alleys with a total length of nearly 100km; clearing 1.5km of water flow, collecting nearly 1 ton of all kinds of waste.

Spread the "green living" movement
Identifying environmental protection activities as one of the core, regular and long-term movements, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has directed Youth Union bases across the province to proactively and voluntarily register to undertake projects and tasks related to the needs and situations of localities and units; actively organize propaganda activities for young union members and people to raise awareness of environmental protection and respond to climate change through activities such as: Undertaking self-managed routes, building bright - green - clean - beautiful agencies and units; establishing youth volunteer teams ready to participate in environmental protection activities, responding to "Green Sunday" with environmental cleaning campaigns. Regularly posting articles on the Youth Union's Fanpage and Facebook system about environmental protection work...
Many Youth Union organizations also promote the creativity of young people, using recycled materials such as motorbike and car tires, wooden boards, bottles, cardboard, etc. to make slides, swings, seesaws, charts, or various learning tools and toys for children. Using recycled materials to make toys for children not only creates a useful play space, limits the negative effects of too much exposure to electronic devices, but also contributes to educating children about a "green" lifestyle, protecting the environment, and creating positive values for the community and society.
“Green living” can be simply understood as a sustainable lifestyle, trying to change daily habits of oneself as well as society to minimize harmful factors to the living environment, further reducing negative impacts on the earth, helping our green planet to always be “healthy”. Responding to this healthy lifestyle, the youth of the Land of Ancestors have been doing many meaningful things, creating a strong influence in the community with the desire to join hands to protect the green - clean - beautiful environment.
With the motto "Each youth has an action, each Youth Union has a practical activity to protect the environment", in the first 6 months of 2024, the youth of the Land of Ancestors have carried out many tasks to help spread the "green lifestyle" widely, contributing to building a bright - green - clean - beautiful environment.
A typical example is “Green Sunday” with practical activities towards the environment. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has simultaneously organized campaigns to respond to “Green Sunday” with the participation of thousands of young union members with activities such as: Planting and caring for trees, collecting waste on hundreds of rural and urban roads, dredging canals, clearing traffic corridors... Propagating and mobilizing people to throw garbage in the right place, maintain hygiene, not littering... gradually forming a civilized lifestyle, more responsible for the environment for each individual in society.
Implementing the peak day of "Volunteering to build new rural areas and Green Sunday" at the central level in Ban Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district through many activities such as: Inauguration of "Youth tree line", "Lighting up the countryside road", organizing waste classification training for young union members.
The whole province simultaneously launched the Peak Day of "Volunteering to build civilized urban areas" in 2024, with the provincial level point in Phu Tho town. The activity attracted a large number of young union members to participate in repairing 13 "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized - Safe" roads; planting and caring for 1,230 trees; organizing the removal and removal of illegal advertising and classified billboards on 10.5km of urban roads; propagating and mobilizing people to collect and dispose of waste according to regulations, planting 210,500 new trees of all kinds, greening many vacant lands and bare hills in the province.
