The difference between buying and selling gold is considered a big risk for investors, but many gold shops were bustling on the evening of January 10 (February 19). In front of many gold shops, reporters recorded scenes of people lining up to buy gold. Even though it was nearly 9:00 p.m., the number of gold customers still came in droves, with long lines of people waiting.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Huyen (Cau Giay) expressed surprise: "I read in the newspaper that people lined up from early morning to buy gold, so I waited until evening to buy, but when I arrived, there were still a lot of people. Now that I have arrived, I also lined up to buy gold for good luck at the beginning of the new year."
Ms. Cao Nhu Quynh (Nam Tu Liem) shared: "In my opinion, around 7:30 p.m., many gold stores ran out of plain rings, and PNJ stores only sold half a tael. There are still a lot of people coming to buy tonight, I'm afraid they won't be able to buy before they run out of stock to sell."
As of 9:00 p.m. on February 19, the domestic gold price listed by DOJI Group was VND74.9 million/tael for buying; VND77.9 million/tael for selling.
