On August 18, Mr. Tran Dinh Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Gia Lai province - said that the department is reviewing the situation of organizing school buses at schools in the area.
According to Mr. Son, from now until the opening day of the new school year, the department will coordinate with the education sector to require schools to report on student pick-up and drop-off activities by car.
At the beginning of the new school year, the authorities will inspect the actual situation of picking up and dropping off students to ensure that activities take place safely and in accordance with regulations.
Previously, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued an official dispatch requesting to strengthen traffic safety for cars transporting students.
The province assigned the Department of Transport to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to direct the review of schools that use cars to pick up and drop off students.
Require transport business units to comply with regulations on business and conditions for doing business in transport by car.
Coordinate with functional forces to strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations in passenger transport activities. Pay special attention to inspection and handling of violations for cars transporting students.
Gia Lai province requested the Department of Education and Training to inspect educational institutions and schools that organize cars to pick up and drop off students; review and provide the number of cars to pick up and drop off students to the Department of Transport for coordination in management, supervision and monitoring.
Before the new school year, Gia Lai provincial authorities required all educational institutions using buses to transport students to carry out the process of checking the number of students when getting on and off the bus.
Specify specific responsibilities of relevant parties in controlling and receiving students, especially preschool and primary school students.
No contracts for transporting students to and from transport units that do not ensure the conditions for doing business in automobile transport.
It is known that in the new school year 2024-2025, students in Gia Lai province will return to school on August 29, with first graders returning on August 22. The whole province will simultaneously hold the opening ceremony on September 5.
