The confrontation between Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club and Thai Nguyen T&T is the focus of the third round of the 2025 Women's National Cup, as it means competing for rankings to gain an advantage before the semi-finals.
Thai Nguyen T&T has been heavily invested in, recently recruited a number of national players and demonstrated its prestige when it defeated Son La 4-0 in the first round. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club is a team with a rich tradition, and is the pride of Vietnamese women's football when it just won a ticket to the AFC Champions League semi-finals.
The team also has the presence of Huynh Nhu and two Vietnamese-American players Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh. However, the match between the two teams today was not as exciting as expected.
Throughout the 90 minutes, Huynh Nhu and his teammates were unable to take advantage of even one opportunity. The most regrettable thing was that K'Thua's beautiful long-range shot from outside the penalty area hit the opponent's crossbar in the 89th minute.
As for the two Vietnamese-American players, Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh continued to start but played rather poorly. Ashley played the whole match, while Chelsea was substituted in the second half.
On the other hand, Thai Nguyen T&T Club also could not materialize their attacks to score goals. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, who scored a hat-trick in the previous match, was completely silent.
The match ended in a 0-0 draw. Thus, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club took the top spot in the table due to a better goal difference than Thai Nguyen T&T, thanks to a big 5-0 victory over Son La in the previous round.

In the other group, Hanoi Women's Club played with great effort but only had a 1-1 draw against the defending champion of Vietnam Coal and Minerals. The goalscorers for both teams were Dang Thi Duyen and Vietnamese player Nguyen Thi Van.
Two stars of Hanoi Women's Club, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha and Pham Hai Yen, continued to have a bad day of playing and failed to score.
With this result, Phong Phu Ha Nam (top of Group B) and Vietnam Minerals (second in Group B) advanced to the semi-finals and met Thai Nguyen T&T and Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club respectively.
Because they only finished third, Hanoi Women's Club will play the fifth-place match against Son La. The semi-final and fifth-place matches will take place on the afternoon of April 3 at the Youth Football Training Center (VYF).
