33 countries and territories will attend the Asian Golf Tourism Congress in Da Nang

In order to continue affirming its position as Asia's leading event and festival destination, and continuing the success of the Golf Tourism Festival, focusing on the Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship from 2022 to 2024, in 2025, Da Nang City will coordinate with the International Golf Tourism Association (IAGTO) to host the Asian Golf Tourism Congress - AGTC 2025.

At the press conference, the Organizing Committee announced that the Asian Golf Tourism Congress will take place from March 30 to April 5, 2025 with main activities such as: Survey program for golf tour operators (March 31 - April 1); AGTC Golf Championship 2025 (April 2); Asian Golf Tourism Conference with more than 4,500 meetings between sellers and buyers (April 3-4); Danang City's reception and IAGTO Awards Ceremony (April 4). It is expected that 450 delegates from more than 33 countries and territories, including experts, golf course operators and golf tour operators who are official members of the World Golf Tourism Association, will attend.

Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that hosting the Asian Golf Tourism Convention - AGTC 2025 is a valuable opportunity to introduce to international friends a dynamic, modern coastal city with outstanding tourism potential. Promote the image of golf tourism, along with a system of 5-star hotels and resorts and beautiful natural landscapes, and the city's high-class tourism services. At the same time, this event will help Da Nang City affirm its position on the regional and international golf tourism map and open up many opportunities for cooperation and investment to develop golf tourism and luxury tourism.

According to Mr. Peter Walton, Chairman of the World Golf Tourism Association, golf tourism in Da Nang and Central Vietnam is growing not only in the number of golf courses but also in the increasing number of golf rounds. According to statistics from the Central Golf Course Alliance, in 2024, the total number of golf rounds at Central courses reached 387,000 rounds, an increase of 13.8% compared to 2023 and is expected to reach 410,000 rounds in 2025, continuing to increase by more than 10% compared to 2024.

AGTC 2025 continued to affirm the attractiveness of the host city when attracting more than 450 delegates, far exceeding the 340 delegates of AGTC 2024 in Abu Dhabi. Of the 450 delegates, the number of international buyers was 162, of which 54% came from Asia, 26% from Europe, 11% from Australia and New Zealand, and 7% from North America.

Hosting AGTC 2025 will create great values ​​for Da Nang destination such as: 168 travel companies specializing in golf tourism will have the opportunity to experience the resorts and golf courses here; More than 4,500 meetings have been scheduled between international travel companies and golf tourism service providers, which will generate increased revenue for golf destinations in Asia, Vietnam and especially Da Nang; Inviting leading travel companies from 33 countries and territories to participate in the event helps Da Nang's golf tourism industry no longer depend too much on one or two source markets.

Founded in 1997, IAGTO has 2,428 accredited members, including golf tourism operators, golf resorts, hotels, golf courses, tour operators, airlines, travel agencies, licensed media and business partners in 93 countries. IAGTO tour operators control more than 90% of golf tourism packages sold globally, with a turnover of more than €2.5 billion per year.

AGTC 2025 is one of three official events of the World Golf Tourism Association, along with the Congresses in Europe and North America. The event is not only an important bridge between industry partners but also contributes to promoting the host golf destination and opening up many cooperation opportunities with local suppliers.
