Quang Phu shared that since his junior high school years, he has loved History, passionately learning about events that happened in the past to draw valuable lessons for the future. Every time he has the opportunity to discuss and comment on a historical event or issue, Phu feels excited and interested. This helps him maintain the habit of reading and learning about history when entering high school.

To be able to grasp each issue, Quang Phu applies systematic learning and will learn to understand, not to learn by rote or memorize. The 10th grader said that there is a lot of content related to President Ho Chi Minh, but each saying and story about Uncle Ho is associated with a different event and historical period. Therefore, he will connect the events together to be able to understand the issue comprehensively, easily and quickly.

Truong Quang Phu shared: “The results of the contest are calculated based on the accuracy and time of the contestants, so I tried to answer the questions scientifically. For questions I didn’t know, I would temporarily skip them and move on to easier questions. I also didn’t race against time, but instead, I used all 10 minutes of the test to review all the results so that the number of correct answers was as high as possible.”

Before becoming the sole representative of Ha Tinh province to participate in the final round of the contest “Youth studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style”, Quang Phu had to go through the school round and surpass 653 other contestants across the province with many rounds of direct elimination. In the final round, Truong Quang Phu won the third prize nationwide with a score of 280/300, ranking 6th out of 653 contestants in the final round. He is also the sole representative of Ha Tinh province to win a prize in this year’s contest.

Returning from the competition, Quang Phu expressed that he was very happy with the result this time. But what made him feel more meaningful was that he had learned a lot and the teachings and thoughts that Uncle Ho left behind had brought him many useful and meaningful lessons, from which he could apply in his studies, daily life and even in his future orientation.

Truong Quang Phu added: “The third prize in the contest is the motivation for me to conquer greater goals in my studies and life. The experiences during the contest are also an opportunity for me to understand more about Uncle Ho, about Vietnamese history and to love and be proud of my homeland and country more.”

Before achieving this achievement, Quang Phu also won an encouragement prize at the Provincial Excellent Student Competition in French in grade 10. In both studying and class movements, Quang Phu always had the awareness to set an example, be creative, and actively study as Uncle Ho taught.
