The area has 98 historical relics, scenic spots and many traditional cultural festivals, favorable for tourism development. In order to promote potential and strengths, the district has developed a Project for Tourism Development in Vo Nhai District for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, with 4 main tourism products including: spiritual and historical tourism; eco-tourism, resort tourism; community and rural tourism associated with tea culture; cave exploration tourism.
Comrade Ha Thi Bich Hong - Secretary of Vo Nhai District Party Committee stated that tourism development is one of the contents promoted by the district Party Committee and government, aiming to promote the potential and advantages of local development, promote investment attraction, in tourism development, the district also has specific orientations, investment solutions, construction and methodical planning, meeting all tourism criteria associated with ecological environment and indigenous culture factors.
Large-scale, unique cultural festival
"Vo Nhai - the origin" is the largest cultural festival of the district, aiming to promote and introduce the cultural identity, history, and unique landscapes of Vo Nhai land to a large number of tourists from all over the country, contributing to promoting the tourism potential of the district as well as Thai Nguyen province.
In addition to this festival, every year, in Vo Nhai district, there are many other unique festivals, such as: Vo Nhai ripe custard apple season, Mo Ga communal house festival, Dinh Ca temple festival...
"Vo Nhai, the origin" is the largest cultural festival of the district.
Coming to the festival "Vo Nhai at the origin", visitors will experience many unique activities, imbued with cultural identity such as: folk games of tug of war, throwing con, blindfolded duck catching, crossbow shooting...; collective bamboo dance; enjoying highland cuisine at the countryside market... The art program to welcome the Festival, mostly consists of unique singing, dancing and music performances, elaborately staged to show the unique features of the ethnic groups in the area...
In recent years, festivals in the district have been held on an increasingly large scale. In addition to creating a playground for local people, festival activities are also promoted by the district to promote and introduce the image of Vo Nhai tourism to visitors from near and far, creating a unique tourism product of the Vo Nhai highlands.
Ms. Hoang Thi Dau - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Vo Nhai district said that in order to create a unique local culture to attract tourists, we are implementing plans to organize festivals on a larger scale, in a more systematic way and imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups. "This will be a potential "channel" for Vo Nhai to promote its strengths in tourism", Ms. Hoang Thi Dau emphasized.
Held for the first time in 2014, “Vo Nhai at the origin” is an annual festival, contributing to opening up opportunities for socio-economic development for the Vo Nhai highlands and creating unique and attractive tourism products for the locality.
In order to form tours, tourist routes and facilitate visitors to participate in the experience, Vo Nhai district also associates festivals with famous places and unique tourism products in the area. Typical examples include the Mo Ga Communal House Festival associated with the Mo Ga Hamlet Community Tourism Site, Phu Thuong Commune; Vo Nhai Festival in the custard apple season and custard apple picking experience associated with agricultural and rural tourism in La Hien and Lau Thuong Communes; Dinh Ca Temple Festival connected with the Phuong Hoang Cave - Mo Ga Stream tourist site; cultural experience activities of ethnic minorities associated with exploration tourism of the Than Sa - Phuong Hoang Nature Reserve...
Reaching out to become an ideal destination
In 2022, Vo Nhai attracted nearly 116,000 tourists, an increase of nearly 10 times compared to 2021 and reaching 70% compared to 2019 - the time before the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2023, the district welcomed over 130,500 tourists to visit and experience the locality, with total tourism revenue reaching 9 billion VND.

Comrade Ha Thi Bich Hong - Secretary of Vo Nhai District Party Committee affirmed that according to the Project, Vo Nhai district will continue to direct the implementation of state management in the fields of culture, heritage, and tourism; improve the effectiveness of propaganda work on tourism development; promote the image, potential and agricultural, forestry and tourism-related products to tourists inside and outside the province; continue to direct and guide companies and cooperatives to improve the quality of services, complete items at community tourism sites to serve tourists; coordinate to organize training courses related to tourism activities...
"Vo Nhai strives to make tourism a basic economic sector of the district and become a tourist destination of Thai Nguyen. The district aims to welcome about 260,000 visitors/year by 2025," said Ms. Ha Thi Bich Hong.
