VPUB - Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long offers incense to heroes and martyrs in Dien Bien

Dienbien.gov.vn - On the occasion of Dien Bien province organizing the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival, on the afternoon of March 14, at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs' Temple, comrade Le Thanh Long - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, together with leaders of Central Committees, Ministries and branches respectfully came to offer flowers and burn incense to commemorate the heroes, martyrs and compatriots who sacrificed at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield. Also participating in the incense offering ceremony, on the side of Dien Bien province were comrade Tran Quoc Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, leaders of Central Committees, Ministries and Dien Bien province respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroes, martyrs and compatriots who sacrificed their lives at Dien Bien Phu battlefield.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates lit incense sticks, remembered and expressed their infinite gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity; and commemorated the merits of General Vo Nguyen Giap - the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army who led our army and people to great victories in the history of the nation.

The delegation visited the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu battlefield.

The Dien Bien Phu victory in 1954 was a golden milestone, an immortal heroic epic of the nation's history, with "56 days and nights of digging mountains, sleeping in tunnels, pouring rain, rice balls, blood mixed with mud, unflinching courage, unwavering will" that made the Dien Bien Phu victory "famous in five continents, shaking the earth". The Dien Bien Phu victory has become a symbol of revolutionary heroism, the inheritance and promotion of the glorious tradition and history of thousands of years of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people. To create the great Dien Bien Phu victory, thousands of outstanding sons of the Vietnamese people sacrificed their youth and lives for the Fatherland. The blood of the martyrs made the revolutionary flag even more brilliant. The sacrifice of the martyrs won independence and freedom for the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and the delegation observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the heroes, martyrs and compatriots who sacrificed their lives on the Dien Bien Phu battlefield.

To express their respect and infinite gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers, comrade Le Thanh Long - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and comrades in the delegation respectfully offered flowers, took a minute of silence, lit incense, and prayed for the souls of the heroes, martyrs and compatriots who sacrificed at the Dien Bien Phu battlefield to rest in peace, to bless the nation, the people, the country of Vietnam to integrate and develop; the Vietnamese people to survive and prosper./.
