VPUB - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Vietnam paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee

Dienbien.gov.vn – On the morning of March 16, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Olivier Brochet - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam and Mr. M.Kléber Arhoul - Director of the Caen Memory Museum - France and members of the working delegation.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do was pleased to welcome the Ambassador, the Director of the Caen Memory Museum and members of the delegation to attend the 2025 Hoa Ban Festival and the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival and work in Dien Bien province. He informed Mr. Olivier Brochet and members of the delegation about the cooperation between Dien Bien province and the French Embassy in Vietnam in the past time, in the fields of culture and tourism, and achieved many positive results. As well as the French Embassy in Vietnam has supported civil servants working in archaeology in Dien Bien province with a training course on archaeology and the Nam Rom River Basin Multi-Disaster Management Project of the province, supported and funded by the French Development Agency (AFD). In particular, AFD has called on organizations and individuals to sponsor two items: Muong Thanh Bridge lighting system and Signage system and tourist route for historical relics in Dien Bien province, contributing to attracting the attention and visits of local people as well as tourists to the province.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm and friendly welcome of the provincial leaders to the delegation, Mr. Olivier Brochet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam, shared: He felt honored and proud that history has connected France with Dien Bien, helping us to cherish and love peace more, thereby conveying the historical story from a global perspective to the people, especially the youth, sending the message of peace, solidarity and the spirit of just struggle to today's and future generations.

The Ambassador hopes that the two sides will soon reach a cooperation agreement to sign a memorandum of understanding on the exchange of artifacts from the Caen War Memorial Museum in France and the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, as well as experience and application of technology in museum management and preservation.

In an effort to promote the friendship and cooperation between Dien Bien province and French agencies and organizations, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do hopes that through the French Embassy, he will continue to introduce Dien Bien province to individuals, organizations and investors in France to mobilize support and sponsorship for Dien Bien province with more programs and projects, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam - France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; supporting the connection of French businesses and investors to survey, research and implement investment and cooperation projects in the fields of culture and tourism in Dien Bien province./.
