TPO – The People's Council of Vinh Phuc province has just issued a Resolution regulating tuition fees for public educational institutions in the area for the 2024-2025 school year.

Accordingly, tuition fees for the next school year will be reduced by up to 50% compared to the tuition fees applied in the 2023-2024 school year.

Specifically, for preschool children in rural and urban areas, tuition fees range from 60,000 VND - 160,000 VND/student/month; for preschool children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, tuition fees range from 30,000 VND - 60,000 VND/student/month.

Elementary, middle, high school, continuing education, and specialized high schools in rural and urban areas have the lowest tuition of 60,000 VND/student/month; the highest is 180,000 VND/student/month.

In ethnic minority and mountainous areas, tuition fees for all levels range from 30,000 - 60,000 VND/student/month. The number of months of tuition fees is based on the actual month of study but not more than 9 months/year.

Online tuition fees are 80% of in-person tuition fees.

Resolution 08 of the Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Council stipulates that the prescribed collection level is used as a basis for tuition support for 5-year-old preschool children, primary school students, and secondary school students studying at non-public educational institutions who are eligible for tuition exemption and reduction policies according to the provisions of Decree No. 81 of the Government. According to the Law on Education, primary school students studying at public educational institutions do not have to pay tuition fees.

In the previous school year, Vinh Phuc stipulated that public educational institutions did not guarantee regular spending levels, with preschool children having the lowest level of 50,000 VND/student/month for mountainous areas and the highest level of 300,000 VND for urban areas.

Primary, middle and high school students, and specialized high school students have the highest fee of up to 360,000 VND and the lowest is 100,000 VND/student/month.

According to Decree 81 of the Government, tuition fees are built on the principle of sharing between the state and learners, in accordance with the socio-economic conditions of each residential area, the actual contribution capacity of the people and the growth rate of the consumer price index, the annual economic growth rate, the roadmap for calculating prices of educational and training services according to regulations and ensuring the quality of education.
