Sharing with Thanh Nien about the "throne" of the horror category at FILMART this year, a representative of Skyline Media said: "Horror and spiritual genres always have a strong appeal to audiences, especially in the Asian market, where there is a rich culture and belief. In recent years, Vietnamese horror films have had a clear development, not only in production quality but also in the way of exploiting stories close to local life and culture. Besides, horror films also have a commercial advantage when with a reasonable investment level, they can still create a good box office effect, so this is the genre that many producers and distributors in Vietnam prioritize."
Sharing more about the partners' reactions, he said: "The feedback from international customers at FILMART this year was very positive. Many partners from markets such as Taiwan, Korea, Southeast Asia and especially India and Latin America have expressed special interest in Vietnamese horror films. They realize that Vietnamese films not only have increasingly good production quality but also possess unique cultural elements, helping to create a difference compared to Hollywood products or other countries in the region. However, for Vietnamese films to go further, improving the script, building attractive stories and investing more in post-production are still factors that need to be focused on."
