At the Military School of Military Region 7 (HCMC), the training cluster has 7 blocks including 4 standing blocks: Coast Guard Officers, Male Militia, Female Militia, Military Band, and 3 marching blocks: Liberation Army Soldiers, Female Southern Guerrillas, Female Special Forces Soldiers.
Among them, the female commandos are mainly professional soldiers selected from units of Military Region 7, Military Region 9, Military Region 5, Army Corps 34, Army Officer School 2 and Army Academy.
Soldiers train from Monday to Saturday. Morning training is from 7:30 to 11:00 and afternoon training is from 14:00 to 16:30.
Every night, in addition to personal activities, the blocks practice more and report online after each week for the parade subcommittee to observe and evaluate.
Training contents include: Practicing block 1/2 horizontal formation, 1/2 vertical formation, practicing block frame and core, practicing walking 180-200m, getting used to music walking at 90-100 steps/minute...
The weather in the South is entering the peak hot season, but in order to be able to walk steadily, beautifully and accurately, the soldiers must maintain high intensity training. Accordingly, the female commandos must wear 0.5 kg weights for an hour before entering the parade. The total weight of weapons and equipment of each female soldier in the female commando unit currently training is about 7-8 kg.
Sweat rolled down the faces of the "beautiful girls" but everyone showed determination and pride in being in the team.
Professional soldier Lieutenant Vo Thi Tuong Vi (General Staff of Military Region 5) shared that despite having to be away from her family for many days and training at high intensity, she and her teammates always try to improve themselves, especially when entering the final stage.
In less than a month, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) will be solemnly held in Ho Chi Minh City. One of the important highlights of the event is the parade with the participation of more than 13,000 people.
The teacher in charge of the block always closely follows every step of the soldiers practicing to promptly remind and correct the team.
Major Vo Le Chi Tuyen (lecturer of the Commando Department, General Military Department, Army Officer School 2) said: "The female commando unit has a very high training intensity, while female soldiers, mainly do office work, have female physical and psychological conditions... so at first there were some difficulties."
In addition, in the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification, the female militia group of Ho Chi Minh City was tasked with recreating the image of female guerrillas from the South wearing Ao Ba Ba, checkered scarves, and M16 submachine guns on their shoulders.
Every week, the unit will participate in joint training at the Military Region 7 Military School with other units, then continue to return to the Ho Chi Minh City Command Headquarters for training. On April 2, 7 units of soldiers entered the final joint training session before gathering in Bien Hoa for the general training session to prepare for the upcoming April 30 parade.
Under the 36 degree Celsius heat of Ho Chi Minh City, soldiers and militiamen of Military Region 7 still strictly follow orders and movements.
The soldiers of the liberation army concentrated highly to ensure that their movements and formations were even and beautiful.
