Vietnam is ready to contribute to the just revolutionary cause of the fraternal Cuban people.

On the evening of September 27, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue and Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly of the People's Government of the Republic of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez attended the ceremony to present the noble Medal of the Cuban State to 7 leaders and former leaders of the National Assembly and agencies of the National Assembly of Vietnam, in order to recognize and honor their important contributions to promoting the relationship between the two countries and the good relationship between the two National Assemblies.

Also attending, on the Vietnamese side, were: former Politburo member, former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; former Politburo member, former Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong; members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, permanent representatives of National Assembly agencies; representatives of leaders of a number of Vietnamese ministries and branches.

On the Cuban side, there were: members of the high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Party and State visiting Vietnam and attending the ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the visit of Leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone of Quang Tri province, South Vietnam (September 1973 - September 2023); Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén.

At the ceremony, President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandez respectfully presented the Carlos Manuel de Cesesspespeedes Medal to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; the Ana Betancourt Medal to former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; and the Solidarity Medal to Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and former Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong.

The President of the Cuban National Assembly presented the Friendship Medal to Vice President of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Parliamentarians' Group Vu Hai Ha.

Speaking at the award ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnamese National Assembly and leaders and former leaders of the National Assembly receiving the Medals and Insignia of the Cuban Party and State, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully thanked the Cuban Party and State; affirming that the awarding of the noble Medals and Insignia of the Cuban Party and State today is not only an honor for the individuals receiving the awards but also an honor for the National Assembly, the people and generations of Vietnamese National Assembly leaders who have worked hard to cultivate and contribute to strengthening the relationship of "exemplary brotherhood, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and loyal solidarity" between the two Parties, two States and peoples over the 63 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the 50th anniversary of President Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated zone of Quang Tri province, southern Vietnam, is an occasion to honor the brotherly solidarity and special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

"On this occasion, we would like to once again affirm the consistent solidarity of the Party, State and people of Vietnam towards the just revolutionary cause of the fraternal Cuban people. The National Assembly and people of Vietnam are determined to work with the National Assembly and people of Cuba to continuously cultivate so that the precious legacy of the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship will forever be continued by generations of Vietnam and Cuba and write new pages of history," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the comrades honored to receive noble Orders and Medals from the Cuban Party and State today, regardless of their positions, will always continue to make efforts to contribute to continuing and strengthening the invaluable friendship and solidarity between the Parties, States and people of the two countries.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue firmly believes that the Cuban people, inheriting the ideology and legacy of Leader Fidel Castro, under the leadership of Revolutionary Leader Raul Castro and the glorious Communist Party of Cuba, will certainly overcome all difficulties and challenges, and gain many new and greater victories on the chosen path.
