At the reception for the Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam Guerrier Julien, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh said that in recent times, the EU has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Justice and relevant ministries and branches in implementing the Project “Strengthening the Law and Justice in Vietnam” (EU JULE) and achieved positive results. Currently, the two sides are negotiating and agreeing on the content of the new legal cooperation project to continue, inherit and promote the successes achieved by the EU JULE Project.

Regarding the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh hopes that the EU will soon remove the “yellow card” on Vietnam’s seafood exports. This is based on Vietnam’s efforts in perfecting the legal framework and achieving positive results in the fight against IUU fishing.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh also proposed that the European Union Ambassador to Vietnam Guerrier Julien urge the 11 EU member countries that have not yet ratified the Vietnam - European Union Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to ratify it soon. This will promptly implement the EVIPA in sync with the Vietnam - European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

In response, Ambassador Guerrier Julien said that Vietnam is an important partner of the EU and highly appreciated the results achieved in the implementation of the EU JULE Project. The Ambassador hoped that the two sides would soon agree on the content and complete the necessary procedures to be able to sign the EVIPA by the end of this year.
In the coming time, Ambassador Guerrier Julien affirmed that he will continue to be a bridge to promote extensive, effective and practical cooperation between the European Union and Vietnam in general, and cooperation in the fields of law and justice in particular.
Cuban Ambassador: Support Vietnam - Cuba judicial cooperation

On the same day, Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh received Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén before the end of his term in Vietnam.
Here, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh highly appreciated the support and cooperation of Ambassador Orlando and the staff of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam for the Ministry of Justice in the past time. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice always appreciates and remembers the good feelings and contributions of the Ambassador to strengthening and developing the cooperation relationship in the field of law and justice between Vietnam and Cuba. In particular, including the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2013; signing and implementing the Cooperation Program for the years 2022-2023 and 2024-2025 and a number of other important Letters of Intent and Memorandums of Understanding.
Thanking Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh for his welcome, Ambassador Orlando affirmed that, regardless of his position, he will continue to support and care so that the special traditional brotherly friendship between Vietnam and Cuba in general and the cooperation in the field of law and justice in particular will continue to be maintained and developed better and better.

Chief Justice Nguyen Hoa Binh said that the Vietnamese court system has many similarities with the former Soviet court system; he wants to learn from the experience of developing and perfecting the judicial system of the Russian Federation. |
