On March 13, a representative of the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security said that the Road and Railway Traffic Patrol and Control Guidance Department is piloting a campaign to encourage drivers and vehicle owners to equip themselves with reflective stickers and warning devices when traveling on highways.

In the immediate future, the Traffic Police Department will provide instructions to drivers on how to handle vehicle incidents on the highway, apply reflective stickers to vehicles, and equip them with warning devices when stopping to handle incidents on the road at night.

This plan is being implemented by Road Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 3 on the Phap Van - Cau Gie - Cao Bo - Mai Son - National Highway 45.

"Currently, this process is being implemented in the form of a campaign. After that, the Traffic Police Department will evaluate its effectiveness to replicate it on other highways," said a representative of Department C08.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Thang (Captain of Road Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department) said that according to the above plan, on the evening of March 12, the authorities stopped and checked the alcohol concentration of bus and truck drivers traveling on this highway.

At the same time, traffic police distributed leaflets instructing about 100 drivers to stick reflective paper on the rear of their vehicles (the rear of the car), recommending that they equip themselves with cones or reflective triangle signs.

This person said that the mobilization and guidance of drivers and owners of transport vehicles will be carried out regularly. The purpose is to ensure the safety of vehicles when participating in traffic, especially between 7pm the previous day and 6am the next morning. During the mobilization process, the drivers were all happy and actively cooperated.

According to the Traffic Police Department, there have been a series of road traffic accidents in recent times, many of which occurred on curved roads with limited visibility and on some highways where emergency lanes have not been arranged or lighting systems have not been installed.

The authorities request that drivers participating in traffic must strictly comply with all regulations of the Road Traffic Law; Comply with regulations such as: Avoiding and overtaking vehicles according to regulations; Driving in the correct lane; Driving at the prescribed speed; Not violating alcohol or drug concentrations when driving.

Notably, when traveling on the highway, drivers must not drive in the emergency lane or on the roadside; must not drive at a speed exceeding the maximum speed or below the minimum speed indicated on signs or painted on the road surface.

Vehicles may only be stopped or parked in designated areas. In case of being forced to stop or park in an inappropriate area, the driver must move the vehicle off the roadway. If this is not possible, the driver must signal to other drivers.
