At around 7:30 p.m. on February 28, Vu Nha Uyen (7 years old, from Doan Ha commune, Thanh Thuy district) suddenly went missing. After many hours, her relatives still could not find her, so they went everywhere to look for her.

Seeing the two grandparents searching for their granddaughter at night, the neighboring families and then hundreds of people in the whole area split up to search. Along with that, the police force of Doan Ha commune also quickly arrived to look for the missing person.

Fears that the girl had been kidnapped increased when villagers reported that a car with a strange license plate appeared in the area.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien (50 years old, Uyen's grandfather) was still nervous when recounting the incident 3 days ago.

According to Mr. Kien, on Friday afternoon (February 28), like every other day, after the family has dinner, Mrs. Hieu (Mr. Kien's wife) will guide her grandchild to study. Because it is the weekend, Mrs. Hieu will only let her grandchild study until about 7:30 p.m., then she will go take a shower and do laundry.

After bathing and cleaning the kitchen, Mrs. Hieu went to the living room and was startled to find her grandchild nowhere to be found. The woman hurriedly went out to the street to call for her grandchild. However, her repeated calls for her grandchild received no response.

Seeing that, Mr. Kien opened the family's security camera and saw Uyen crawling through the iron fence to get out. At the same time, the neighbor who had a security camera also checked again and noticed that the child went alone to the field behind the residential area.

According to Mr. Kien, people in the neighborhood said that in the afternoon there was a strange car parked in the field, so his family was afraid that his child was kidnapped.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sy, Head of Zone 1 (Doan Ha Commune) said that on the evening Uyen went missing, hundreds of people spread out on the roads in the zone, on the dike and in the fields to search.

"For the first time, a large number of people focused on one main task: searching for the missing girl," Mr. Sy recounted.

According to Mr. Sy, villagers mobilized all available lighting equipment to search every corner within a radius of about 5km.

"The field in Zone 1 is normally pitch black, but that day it was brightly lit and noisy with people calling out to each other looking for the little girl," Mr. Sy shared.

As the first person to see Uyen, Mr. Ha Tien Truong (28 years old) said: "Seeing a tuft of hair in the garden, I was suspicious and shined the flashlight closely, discovering the girl squatting, arms crossed in the middle of the grass. Immediately, I shouted loudly to announce that Uyen was here, calling everyone to come here."

When Uyen was found, the clock had struck midnight. The nearly 4-hour journey of the whole village working together to search for the missing girl had a good result when the child was still healthy and safe.

Recalling the moment he found his grandson, Mr. Kien said: "I carried him from the lawn back home, the villagers stood on both sides clapping and cheering, laughing and talking loudly, very emotional.

My family feels very lucky, and doesn't know what to say other than thank you to the people who worked tirelessly day and night to find him through every alley, field, and bush."
