Domestic gold prices skyrocketed
Gold price today February 29, 2024: SJC gold increased by 400,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions, bringing the gold price to 79.32 million VND/tael, world gold increased slightly.
At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on February 29, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:
DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 77.25 million VND/tael for buying and 79.25 million VND/tael for selling.
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 77.35 - 79.20 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 77.25 - 79.45 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,033.815 USD/ounce, a difference of 3.67 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 59.672 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 17.628 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Japanese Yen exchange rate drops sharply across the board
Japanese Yen exchange rates surveyed on the morning of February 29, 2024 at specific banks are as follows:
At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 158.36 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 167.62 VND/JPY, down 0.53 VND on the buying side and down 0.56 VND on the selling side.
At Vietinbank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.27 VND in both buying and selling directions, equivalent to 159.27 VND/JPY and 168.97 VND/JPY.
At BIDV, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.39 VND in buying and 0.4 VND in selling, reaching 159.54 VND/JPY and 167.96 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Agribank, the buying and selling rates are 159.65 VND/JPY and 167.77 VND/JPY – down 0.38 VND in buying and down 0.41 VND in selling.
At Eximbank, the buying price decreased by 0.74 VND and the selling price decreased by 0.76 VND, respectively at 160.86 VND/JPY and 165.44 VND/JPY.
At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.71 VND in buying and 0.72 VND in selling with prices of 156.66 VND/JPY and 169.07 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Sacombank, the buying price decreased by 0.51 VND and the selling price decreased by 0.5 VND, corresponding to the prices of 161.41 VND/JPY and 166.49 VND/JPY.
According to the survey, today Sacombank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate.
Domestic coffee prices continue to rise
Domestic coffee prices updated at 4:48 a.m. on February 29, 2024 continued to peak after a slight decrease yesterday; an increase of 1,200-1,500 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 82,000 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 83,700 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is quite high at 83,400 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 83,600 VND/kg.
Green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, are purchased at 82,700 VND/kg.
In Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province, coffee is purchased at 83,600 VND/kg, while in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 83,700 VND/kg.
