According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee at the working session, in 2023, gender equality work continued to receive attention from all levels, sectors and localities in the province. Gender mainstreaming in the development and implementation of policies, laws, programs and plans has been seriously implemented. Communication work on gender equality has been strengthened with the active participation of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots level. Gender equality indicators have all improved compared to 2022, especially indicators on education and training, and prevention of domestic violence. Currently, the total number of female cadres, workers and civil servants in the province is 44,980/77,847 people (accounting for 57.78%). The proportion of female cadres participating in leadership and management has gradually increased. In the economic field, the proportion of women participating in business ownership and cooperation accounts for 27%.
The whole province has organized 08 training courses for 950 commune-level cadres, village self-management boards, and residential groups on capacity building, raising awareness of gender and gender equality; 05 conferences to disseminate knowledge and laws on the Law on Gender Equality, Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence; Law on Marriage and Family... with the participation of 400 women; developed many news, articles, and reports to propagate and disseminate legal documents on preventing and combating crimes against children and women...

Regarding the implementation of the Law on Marriage and Family, after 9 years of implementing the Law on Marriage and Family (2015 - 2023 period) in the province, many positive results have been achieved, contributing to building, perfecting and protecting the progressive Marriage and Family regime, building legal standards for behavior; protecting the rights and legitimate interests of family members; at the same time, inheriting and promoting the fine traditions and ethics of Vietnamese families.
The Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Justice to advise on the issuance of many documents guiding implementation throughout the province; step up propaganda, education, and dissemination of the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State on ethnic policies, the Law on Marriage and Family, and the consequences of early marriage and incestuous marriage.

In addition to the achieved results, there are still some shortcomings and limitations: Although there have been changes in the awareness of some Party committees, Party organizations, authorities and unions about gender equality work, it is not really clear and positive. Implementation plans are still general and not linked to the specific conditions of the unit and locality. Officials working on gender equality still lack stability and change frequently. The proportion of female officials holding leadership and management positions in local governments at all levels in the province is still modest. Child marriage, domestic violence, and cohabitation without marriage registration still occur...
The Provincial People's Committee recommends that, based on the assessment of the results achieved, shortcomings and limitations in the practical implementation of the Law, the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, ministries, departments and central agencies should soon complete the regulations on marriage and family, overcome the shortcomings in legal regulations to ensure practical application in order to improve the effectiveness of implementation in the coming time. On the other hand, it is recommended that the Ministry of Justice should clearly guide the issuance of the Resolution approving the list of customs on marriage and family of ethnic groups as a legal document or an individual document to ensure unified implementation.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs, Head of the survey delegation acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the province in implementing policies and laws on gender equality, the Law on Marriage and Family. The survey delegation suggested that the province continue to pay attention to strengthening the staff working on gender equality at all levels; allocate appropriate budgets to implement gender equality work; have specific solutions to effectively implement the goals set out in the National Strategy on Gender Equality, in which the feasibility of each specific indicator is determined to propose appropriate solutions; there should be specific measures to overcome the situation of early marriage, illegal marriage, domestic violence, etc.
