On behalf of the coaching staff, Head Coach Roland thanked the VFF for creating favorable conditions for the team during their preparation at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. Early tomorrow morning, the team will depart for Oman for training and two important friendly matches there.
Head coach Roland reported that both the coaching staff and the players have been working hard and trying their best recently. With the support of the Vietnam Football Federation, the team will continue to train in Oman. "Although the opponents in the upcoming finals are very strong, the whole team is determined to fight with all their might" - Head coach Roland said.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation - introduced the position of Team Leader of the Vietnam U17 team participating in the Finals to Mr. Mai Anh Hoang - Deputy Head of the VFF Training Department. With experience as a match supervisor for AFC, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu believes that Mr. Mai Anh Hoang will provide maximum support to the activities of the Vietnam U17 team during the competition in Saudi Arabia.
On behalf of the coaching staff of the Vietnam U17 team, Mr. Mai Anh Hoang expressed his hope that with the careful preparation of the whole team and the upcoming important training session in Oman, the Vietnam U17 team will achieve the best results at the 2025 AFC U17 Championship.
According to plan, Vietnam U17 will leave for Oman tomorrow (March 22) and play two friendly matches with the host country's U17 team, which is also preparing for the 2025 AFC U17 Championship.
The 2025 AFC U-17 Championship will take place from April 3 to 20 in Saudi Arabia, bringing together 16 of the region’s best youth teams. The tournament consists of four groups, with each team playing a round-robin to determine points and rankings. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage.
Vietnam U17 is in the same group with Australia U17, UAE U17 and Japan U17. Coach Cristiano Roland emphasized: “Just like in the qualifying round, we will focus on solving each match in the final round. The points that need to be improved have been clearly pointed out by me after the qualifying round and included in the daily training plan. We always maintain focus and aim for the highest goal for Vietnamese football”.
