In an interview on March 18, Burn shared: "The coach called us on a video call on Tuesday and said they were considering calling me up, announcing it on Thursday. I waited until almost the end of Thursday and told my wife that nothing would happen."
"Then a text message came in asking if I was still up at 10pm. I immediately said yes. At first he said it was very unprofessional of me not to go to bed before 10pm, so I had to apologize for that," Burn continued.
Dan Burn is a notable face in Tuchel's England squad for March. The centre-back had a memorable week when he scored in Newcastle's 2-1 win over Liverpool in the League Cup final, ending the Magpies' 70-year drought for a domestic title.
Burn couldn't hide his joy at being called up to the England squad. The Newcastle star admitted he wanted to contribute to the national team and not just appear to fill the bench.
Dan Burn, 32, is over 2m tall and has a lot of experience playing in the Premier League for teams such as Newcastle, Fulham and Brighton. Under Tuchel, this center-back has been called up to the England team for the first time.
The Three Lions will have two matches in the European World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia, on March 22 and 25 respectively.
